I still think it is weird how Parsons showed up at a Flames/Wings game as a spectator and sat behind the bench grinning like the Joker. Something just not quite right about him. Maybe he was there to just cheer on the team, but it seemed kind of stalkerish.

I must have missed or forgotten that anti-vax stuff regarding Parsons. Yikes. I figured he was just injured again.

Ryan Pike said that Parsons re-aggravated a previous injury before the season started. Was on the season-opening injury reserve list the entire time.

Sorry to hear about Parsons . But , with the luck we've had in the past with goalies ....sheesh.

Happy to see Tuulola still hanging in there.
He's a big body who seemed to have a bit of an edge to his game . He still needs work on his skating and it's sad he won't be here in Calgary at all to work on that.

The other QOs look good. Makes me wonder whats going on with Tkachuk.

While Parsons may be dealing with some sort of injury, be it mental or otherwise, he was also confirmed unvaccinated.

Pospisil is one to watch. I think he made great strides last season and plays with a bit of an edge. A good camp and Sutter may keep him around.

Reminds me that it's about that time for the annual prospect ranking exercise no?

A terrible shame about Kinnval getting injured before camp last season.

Another thing about arbitration if Matthew takes the Flames to it then Treliving has the option of selecting a two year contract not just a one year deal. Doubt Tkachuk would want to lose a year of UFA. Him signing the qualifying option of a one year $9 million contract makes a lot of sense. His agent and Treliving can still negotiate an extension but it puts more pressure on Flames and gives more control to Matthew.

When can players accept their QOs? If the answer is immediately, then I guess you could say that's a good sign that Tkachuk isn't desperate to get outta here

I don't think any player accepts his QO immediately. For Tkachuk to do so would be very surprising and unusual.

I believe Matthew has until July 22 to accept. Can’t remember where I heard that. Guys have signed the QO later in summer but team can’t pull it off table till then.

Yup, July 22.

The final page of this document has the dates: https://media.nhl.com/site/asset/pub...ticalDates.pdf

QOs had to be submitted by today. QOs can be accepted starting at noon ET on Wednesday and QOs expire at 5:00 pm ET on July 22.

Also, eligible players have until 5:00 pm ET July 17 to file for arbitration.

With Tkachuk, we're not likely to hear anything until July 17 at the earliest (unless he signs a long-term extension).

There's really no reason for him to accept his QO and not file for arbitration if he really wants a one-year deal. The arbitrator is unlikely to award him less than his QO, and if he's awarded too much, the Flames could walk away and he'd become a UFA immediately.

Keep in mind, if he files for arbitration, he automatically forgoes his ability to sign an RFA Offer Sheet... so, he might decide that's a better option.

I hope the Flames consider giving Kylington a long term deal where they maybe pay 500K more to buy 6 years instead of 4 or 7 years even if they believe he could be a top 4 consistent dman with a high ceiling. Given where the team is now, they should be trying to lock up young pieces that they think are important and looking at 2024 and beyond as their new window. No sense in saving money on a two year deal if you think he is going to pop in the next two years.
