QOs had to be submitted by today. QOs can be accepted starting at noon ET on Wednesday and QOs expire at 5:00 pm ET on July 22.
Also, eligible players have until 5:00 pm ET July 17 to file for arbitration.
With Tkachuk, we're not likely to hear anything until July 17 at the earliest (unless he signs a long-term extension).
There's really no reason for him to accept his QO and not file for arbitration if he really wants a one-year deal. The arbitrator is unlikely to award him less than his QO, and if he's awarded too much, the Flames could walk away and he'd become a UFA immediately.
Keep in mind, if he files for arbitration, he automatically forgoes his ability to sign an RFA Offer Sheet... so, he might decide that's a better option.
