The Calgary Boomers played the Seattle Sounders at the Kingdome on August 4, 1981, a 2-0 victory for the home side.

The Calgary Stampeders played the Seattle Totems back in the days of the old minor pro Western Hockey League. I’m old and I was a kid then. Fun fact: Lou Jankowski played for Calgary.

the Calgary Tigers lost the Stanley Cup final to the Montreal Canadiens that year, the two games were played in Montreal and Ottawa. the Canadiens were pretty stacked with at least 5 hall of famers, probably more

Haven't seen the highlights but some of those "illegal forward pass in the offensive zone" penalties on the Tigers seem dubious. And wearing the onion on the belt (as was the style in those days) didn't help the Tigers either.
Kraken played last night, so they've gotten the rust off, but, could also be a bit banged up. Hoping the Flames will come out hot and that they will have the stamina into the third.

along those lines, Skin Barn (and a band called Snowman that sadly I know nothing about) opened for Nirvana (however that was in Calgary, not Seattle) in march of 91

It actually feels strange to watch a Flames game tonight.
Not expecting much after such a long break, but hoping for the best. A few beers, a Flames game..........about damn time.

The Calgary Flames announced today they have recalled goaltender Dustin Wolf on emergency basis from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League (AHL). Flames goaltender Dan Vladar will be designated non-roster for tonight's game.
The Flames also have announced forward Brett Ritchie has been placed in NHL COVID Protocol as of December 29th and did not travel with the team to Seattle. Forward Byron Froese has been assigned to the Flames taxi squad.

I know it would be best for Markstrom to get going again, but I would love to see Wolf take his NHL debut tonight.

I love Darryl. What coach even when not employed by the team watched our games , identified a need, made a mental note of all of it and made the immediate changes once brought back in to make an immediate impact?
Man it's refreshing . The honesty ,accountability, passion, knowledge , experience in absolutely everything .
Grateful we can talk hockey again and see some tonight.
I think the boys will be charged up but we need to curb our enthusiasm a bit....I bet these guys are their own worst critics and it might take a period or 2 to get back up to their expectations but they'll get there.
Good to see us back but man it makes me nervous traveling into the states while this omicron is just exploding.
Yeah, we just got over it all but looking at a full arena makes me shake my head.
I want to see hockey but to me safety is paramount .
Richie must haven't been exposed to any of the other players and is what the last guy now to get it? Hopefully, Wolf stays healthy too based on what he's accomplished so far.
Go Flames Go.
