Win today would be huge. I think this is going to be a real tough game for Calgary as the Islanders are going to be super fired up. But going 8/12 possible road trip points is fantastic vs. 6/12.

And no Valimaki yet again. I wouldn’t mind packaging him with Dube to try and upgrade a piece into the top 6.

Valimaki + Dube + 1st could be an attractive package to the right team no?

Remove the 1st and see if you can get Keller from Arizona for Dube and Valimaki.

Kellers contract is looking pretty bad I think. 7 more years at over 7 million

In the past, long drawn out pre-game ceremonies have caused the Flames to become comatose. I hope Darryl has them ready to put their foot on the gas from puck drop.

Keller would be a very interesting target; plays all positions and has struggled on a terrible team so far this year. I still think the yotes are in love with accumulating picks though so that could be a tough sell for them. Would really love that player on the flames though.

Still just 23 YO though and tons of untapped potential considering the tire fire he’s been playing for.

Didn’t this just happen too against Philly? They retired numbers I think and pick drop wasn’t until after 7:30 and to your point the Flames looked disjointed especially in the 2nd and into the 3rd (outside of Johnny and his line that game)

Agreed.

For fun I looked at the average points by each team's 9th highest scoring forward this year. (five on five)

The average is 2.5

Calgary's 9th guy is 2.0 (Trevor Lewis)

Teams with great 9th guy output ...

Florida 5
Pittsburgh 5
Minny 4
Buffalo 4
St. Louis 4
Jackets 4
Toronto 4
Detroit 4
Washington 4

Some good teams in there.

Calgary is near the top for players 7 and 8 however.

They had a great first period though until they got into penalty trouble.

The start was fine, so they didn't look affected by the ceremony.

Very true, we had an explosive start against Philly no doubt about it. Was speaking to maybe the lull in the start caught up with them midway through? When you consider everything though and just how much travel these Flames have done so far it’s actually remarkable how often they show up for games. D Sutter is running a tight ship and has his team playing to his expectations which is as much as we could hope for as fans. Such a treat to watch so far this year!

I still think Toffoli would make the most sense in player acquisition.
He fills a positional need, signed two more years at 4.25, RHS RW, plays with an edge, plays instantly in our top six, and has a history with Sutter and his system.

I have a feeling we are going to run the isles out of their rink today.

Also have a bad feeling that Vlader is going to be on his own tomorrow
