Mcavi and Raisatl were worn down before the break after playing unsustainable minutes early in the season. After a few days off they may come out flying in early season form so the Flames should be ready.

And Oilers D are a tire fire against a good forecheck, so lines 3 and 4 better get on them early and hard.

If they don't win this game the season is over.

Listen to all you scrooges out there! Stay away from the GDT and GT if you are going to badmouth your team and stick up for those losers up north, yuck!

This should be a great game to watch, there will be bad blood, the Flames know what is at stake. They had a good break and now back to work. The Oilers have been playing like hot garbage of late and the Flames have been one of the better teams in the last month.

Who ever is in net for the Oilers is worse than what the Flames have, there is zero comparison of the D corps, we run away with a better lineup on the back end all day long. The key is obviously for us to shutdown their top line, that is all they have. We have 2 or 3 lines that can roll and have success tonight, the Oilers do not!

Flames win 5-3 with an empty netter. Bennett, Gio, Gaudreau, Lindy and Doc all score tonight. GFG.

Flames fans blaming the refs is lame. They suck just as bad for every other team.

The NHL should allow coaches, players and media to criticize their pathetic sorry asses after each game.

All I want for Christmas is a Lucic or Rieder goal against the Oilers.

Why not both?

That being said, 15-2 Oilers

Last 10 games the Oilers are 3-6-1 , GF- 24. GA 39

Last 10 games the Flames are 6-3-1. GF- 32. GA 31

Why all the skepticism that is bordering on cynicism?

Willing to bet its Koskinen vs. Rittich but Smith vs. Talbot would be fun

Because lately we're awesome at pooping the bed vs Oilers...We could be 50-2 vs a 2-50 Oilers team and we'd still find a way to give them something to cheer about.

That being said, if Smith is in net we may just change our luck this time

It's a defense mechanism.

This is the first meeting of the season.

Two radically different teams ....goaltending , depth, coaches etc.

I'm taking my borderline hockey fan girlfriend into enemy territory tonight and I'm even gonna make her wear a jersey! I'll by rocking my McGrattan. I really hope we win or it will be a lot less fun!

I'm also really hoping that Mike Smith is in net and made to look silly, but I'm thinking it'll be Koskinen.

Since the 6 game winning streak ended the team has cooled back to what they were before.

Realism?

Saying the Flames aren’t very good?

Meanwhile they’re in a playoff spot and could easily finish top 3 in the division.

Average d core? Actually that’s a strength.

So how is it realistic to say they have major problems and aren’t very good? Imo it isn’t.

I guess you and I must have very different definitions of the word realist. It does not mean pessimist.

See to me if you spend an entire post trashing the Flames and praising the Oilers you’re going to get questioned.

Is it not a perfectly valid question to wonder if someone who spends most of their time on here trashing the Flames is actually a fan? What does it say about their psychology as a fan?

Sorry but if you’re gonna hate on the Flames all season I’m gonna question your fan hood.

If you have a problem with that I’d suggest it’s you that has the thin skin.
