I wonder if the NHL would consider charging goalies for embellishment in situations in which coaches challenge for goalie interference.
It’s a 2 min penalty when the bench makes a failed offside challenge, which I think has substantially improved the game by reducing the number of challenges. Why not something silimar for the goalie challenge?

That hit could have been much worse but I think Ferland did a decent job tucking in the elbow. Last thing Canes should be doing is throwing questionable hits when Tom Wilson is on the other side.

Yeah, but that was a borderline hit. The beauty of 2015 Ferkland was that he managed to straddle the edge without falling over it. This was over.

No reason the NHL shouldn't have reviews for plays like that. He didn't target the head. At worst it was slightly blind side. Don't think it really warrants a penalty.

The Hurricanes and Ferland will plead that the head was not targeted, double minor would have been the correct call.
