Johnny could go to Philly, score 50 goals and 120 points next season, and the Flyers would probably still miss the playoffs handily. That is not a good hockey team.

But sure, buy out the cancer survivor and fan favourite to create space after spending $5 million a year on Racist Andy Delmore.

Not at all. That was never on the table, and is a response that only classless knuckledraggers from the abominable city up North would entertain.

I'm not the biggest Gaudreau fan as it is, but I would absolutely boo him. If he informed the team before the deadline that he intended to sign elsewhere that would be a different story. If he walks, and was always intending to walk he completely screws over this team, so of course I'd be pretty annoyed with him.

I figured he'd re-sign but I'm not so sure anymore.

Haven't seen it mentioned here yet but I could see Lindbolm signing here.

He's part of the Gavle crew with Markstrom, Lindholm, and Jarnkrok

This definitely reeks of JG leaving, I hate to say it but I just feel like he would have done it by now if he was going to sign.

I guess he doesn't have to decide today, he can still wait a week or two and see.

If he doesn't re-sign with the Flames, I will boo him. We could have traded him to get some assets if he told the team last summer he wasn't going to extend his contract here.

Don't do it Johnny, I want to like you still.

I'm not saying its right or wrong but if Johnny signs elsewhere he will get booed endlessly when he returns.

I don't think so. A few idiots for sure, but I don't think it will be very noticeable.

I certainly wouldn’t boo him.

But if he intended on signing elsewhere, he should have informed the Flames so they could plan for it. Least he coulda done.

The Flames were looking like a legit Cup contender, they were never going to trade their best player at the deadline even if they were 100% sure he was leaving. No GM would have done that.

So Philly even without trading JVR can sign Johnny tomorrow from what I've read. So it really comes down to what Johnny wants.

What happens remains to be seen but I'm extremely fascinated at how the flamesr approach the offseason depending on the outcome. It's a wild time and absolutely insane to me how the Faye of one player is going to dictate the entire organization moving forward.

You don’t know what’s happened between him and the Flames and you don’t know if it’s hurt the Flames in any way. Maybe he informed them sooner and the team may have been asking him to reconsider. He’s given us memories and great years of hockey and has done nothing to warrant being booed.

Having seen the Flames play in that barn and almost get jumped in the bathroom for wearing a Flames jersey, among other charming experiences in the city of brotherly love....I'll confidently say that is a very Philly thing to do.

I really hope Gaudreau ends up in Philly and not NJ. NJ is on track to be a very good team in a few years, the Flyers will be a dumpster fire for the next decade.
