Obviously the Lightning will slaughter the Oilers tomorrow, however should the Oilers pull out a miracle OT win (or win by 1 in regulation), they would be exactly tied with the Flames in the standings.
9-5-1 ROW=9, +2 with no games played against each other.

The Oilers first divisional game will be against Calgary Nov.17th which is pretty nuts.
Big change from the 05/06 season when teams played divisional opponents three nights a week.

It is also nuts that the Oilers will have played just 7 conference games prior to the Flames game and 10 games against eastern teams.

The Stars-Bruins was interesting as it was the Stars who scored first on a Faksa SHG early in the game. Shortly after on the man-advantage, the Bruins tie it up on Pastrnak's PPG and that was it for scoring until OT. Marchand gets the GWG on the PP and it was a 2 man-advantage for Boston.
The Devils put the Penguins through hell. It was the Brian Boyle show with the hat trick, Kinkaid made 35 saves, and Matt Murray was pulled after letting in 4 goals. New Jersey won 5-1 in Pittsburgh.
The Habs with a come back after being down 3-1, they win it 4-3 in the SO after killing off a too many men penalty called on them late in reg time. Domi with 2 points.
The Capitals did their job at home by beating the Oilers. That is a sure bet as they come, the Oilers can't win in Washington D.C.
Claud Giroux with 3 points (2g, 1a) in the Flyers as Philly wins 5-2 in Phoenix. Coutourier scored an easy goal with an empty net when Grabner crashed into Kuemper and Kuemper ended up behind the net. You could kind of compare it to the "butt fumble" involving the NY Jets. There was some emotion in this game as it was game 1 of a home-away series between the 2 teams. It got rough in the final minute of the game and at the end. They play again on Thursday in Pennsylvania.

Very nice OOT last night.
The Oil are playing a lot better than they were early in the season, when they were being dominated but sqeaking out Ws. Maybe there will be some justice and we see them squeak out some Ls.
Regardless, they are no good, so it will all work itself out.

Hockey gets very little coverage here in the UK. So it was a nice surprise to see this article on the BBC today.

A nice personal story for Boyle and an inspiring one for everyone else.
