The last two movies in the series (Rocky Balboa, Creed) were both excellent. This one looks just as good IMO.

So does Rocky step in the ring to school the youngster, and halfway through the fight Ivan Drago (who's in the movie) screams for his son to crush him in Russia, and as Rocky lays dying in the ring in Creed's arms, Drago junior coldly says "If he dies he dies".

Also does he hit at 14,500 psi?

I agree.

Based on the reaction in this thread, I was expecting Dolph Lundgren himself to be fighting. I really don't see the problem with this. Yes, it's a bit cheesy to have a son v. son fight, but this is a Rocky film. Also it's pretty on point right now with what's going on in boxing. The Russians have been dominating boxing, as those USSR breeding programs are coming to fruition.

Also all the stuff with Russia's doping issues plays in here too. Although looking back on Rocky IV, and knowing what I know about Stallone's own drug use, the whole thing is pretty absurd. Jordan still looks believable as a non-drug user.

I'm not a face-punching enthusiast but the USSR was notorious for weird crap, is there any info on this? I'm not aware of it.

They were breeding boxers?

Creed 2 looks awesome. I'm glad this franchise has wheels under it again!

They weren't officially breeding anyone. However, their sports programs were so isolated and intense that many of their current top level athletes are the product of unions between athletes who grew up in, otherwise isolating, sports programs. The constant propaganda added to this atmosphere.

So there may not have been an official program, but there was definitely active encouragement for USSR's athletes to produce offspring with each other. The number of current Russian top level boxers and tennis players who have two parents who were former olympians is pretty striking.

An interesting article on the Chinese and Russian "Breeding" programs. The Russians were huge in terms of selecting their athletes back when they were soviets. you took the profile on a winning gymnast and them pumped him or her up with appropriate drugs, often without the athlete even knowing and they hoped to create a super athlete. Then when they're done you put them out to stud basically.

There was a great short story that I read when I was a teenager that I wish that I could find that showed an Olympic where the American's and Russians were just blatent in their cheating. Swimmers with flipper feat and blowholes. Track stars with soft elastic like bones.

the final event was a heavy weight boxing championship and the russian was this 300 pound monster and the American looked like a ballerina, the Russian spent 3 rounds beating down the American but couldn't knock him out and the American finally landed his only punch on an exhausted Russian for the win, and it turned out that they had bread the boxer so his brain was in his a$$.

This one looks interesting. CGI looks rough in parts, but trailers are like that sometimes.

Of course they've got to bring a Drago into it, it's closure for Creed's son. The first one was awesome, this one will also be good.

It's a Rocky movie, if you don't know what to expect by now you don't know nothin' Rock, you don't know nothin!!!!

I always liked the Monster Squad, especially as a kid. But I never realized it had such a big cult following. That doc looks pretty fun.

She has bandages on her hands one second, and then she doesn't... and then you can clearly see the camera man behind her.

I love Godzilla as much as anyone but my god this doesn't give me any hope.
