Maybe a little law of natural selection is needed here.

They should but they would never. Just keep trying to run your country based off something written hundreds of years ago and pretend it covers anything.

I mean the 1st part of it about a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state is clearly not true - so why the rest of it is still in place makes no sense.

Whether its a 300 year old Constitution or a 2000 year old Bible, originalism or literalism just means you are stupid and can't think for yourself.
Always reverting to "the founding fathers intended" or "God commanded" means you are nothing more than a child who defers your personal responsibility and relies on listening to a parent, imaginary or otherwise for what to do.

Apparently the motive for the Highland Park shooting is still unknown and the suspect ("believed to be white, male, 18-20") is not yet in custody.
Shooting from a rooftop at a parade, sigh, I really don't know what to say anymore... that country has normalized the killing of children.

No no, it could also be that you're a totally malicious #### bag who knows that there are many infantally minded people out there who CAN be convinced that authority knows whats right and they just need to follow that scapegoat down your garden path.
Clarence Thomas, for example, isn't a stupid simpleton. He's a huge, greasy, malicious, evil person who wants to harm america for personal benefit.

I was more expecting the fireworks deaths and maimings today. I guess those stories will show up tomorrow though.

Once again, thoughts and prayers...
"Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker asked for prayers for the families of the deceased and for those who were injured in the shooting."

These shootings are on a sad repeat cycle.

With the amount of media coverage these "isolated incidents" receive, the fact that SCOTUS actually relaxed certain gun laws after Uvalde, and the general political mess down there... I really don't see how that country gets better before it gets a lot worse.

Put people with guns on every float, every rooftop, every street corner. Arm the dads, the moms, and the kids. Replace little Timmy's bottle or sippy cup with a glock. Give each city only one entrance that you can lock at night. Only more guns can stop people with guns...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The USA has the oldest or second oldest (depending on whether you count San Marino's partially uncodified constitution). It is thus amongst the most outdated and is in dire need of an update. It's like an old computer - a fine piece for a museum that can be looked upon with pride for its advanced nature in its time, but not what you'd want to be actively using.

Bless the USA, individuals have had a constitutional right to guns since 2008. When a constitutional right has been around for 14 years, you cannot take it away. Need to crackdown on the doors and ladders.

That's the difference between semi auto and bolt action.
If he just had a hunting rifle, he would have shot off 5 rounds in the same time he shot 60 in that video.

That is absolutely horrifying. There is a photo on the internet of a large pool of blood right next to that round bench thing they person taking the video was sitting on. At least it looks like it could be the same spot.

Hell, the Calgary Stampede parade is coming up. That's a harsh visual in your head as you see the stands being put up along the route.
