Dumb question that I am pretty sure I know the answer to, but is the voting always completed before the first playoff game starts? I know it is supposed to be based on the regular season, but I was wondering if there was a chance for playoffs to bias any votes.

What Darryl has done with the Flames is nothing short of incredible. What he has done and instilled in this team is remarkable. We've gone from looking not so great and will they make the playoffs? To not only will they make the playoffs and win the division but will they win the cup? . All 3 coaches are very worthy candidates but IMO it's Darryl's to lose
“That wasn’t my first go-round. I don’t know if I told you that, but this wasn’t the first time I’d gone to him to get him back in the coaches’ room,” Treliving revealed Thursday after Sutter was announced as a finalist for the Jack Adams Award. “He has a great passion for it, but I don’t think he was looking to coach 32 different teams. I think there was a specific team that he’d like to coach. As I always said to him, to me, he’s a Calgary Flame. He belongs as a Calgary Flame. I know he’s coached other places, I know he’s won Cups in L.A., but he’s an Alberta boy and it just feels right when he’s behind the bench of the Calgary Flames.
“I kept impressing upon him that this was home for him, this is where he belongs,” Treliving said, recalling those conversations. “He’s one of the very best to ever do this, and we needed him. So I’m glad he decided to take me up on my persistence.”

Darryl really wants only one trophy and that’s Lord Stanley’s Cup.
I think he is clearly one of the best coaches in the league and Darryl is the reason for this franchise being back on track to success, period end of story.

I'm sure Sutter sees this as nothing more than a distraction to his real goal at this point.

I remember in an interview once after joining the Flames that Darryl talked about the role of coaching now and that there were specialist assistants on the team for working with players on all the skills and tactics, so the head coach's job was mostly about managing the team of assistants and then managing individual relationships with each player to get the most out of them. Darryl seems to understand his players very well and is succeeding in bringing the best out of them. He is a coach in the truest sense of the word.

But, but, I was certain some on CP insisted on taking credit away from Treliving and this was all an ownership hire? Well, I guess they will still push that it was. They've gone this long with that narrative, can't kill it now.
Also, love that Sutter practices what he preaches. Was pointing to the Flames poor play at the end of the year resulting from focus being shifted to individual accomplishments and scoring 40 goals or getting more than 100 points and away from team success. Heard him yesterday also talk about how he'd rather the team won a Jennings than he win the Jack Adams.

I am not a fan of his post-game press conferences, like Brian Burke before him he has become almost a caricature of himself and seems to be playing a role rather han being genuine. Still kind of entertaining, but I do wish he would just cut back on the act a bit
It’s cause the media is asking direct questions that he can’t really give answers to, would be like telling others at the table what your hand is.
I must say I’m liking Darryl a lot this time here, I never noticed a lot of things about him when he was here previously, like how he detailed he is about everything and not only knows the game but the league too. He’s been around obviously but still very knowledgeable.
