The slice backhand is working so well for Milos today...Andy Murray seal of approval.

Sealed with a second serve ace - Milos victorious on his tour return 6-3 6-4 over 5th seed Kecmanovic. Really good stuff from the big man.

Yes it is - Milos serving notice that he's still a dangerous opponent on the green stuff.

Great to see him knock off a pretty good opponent in his first tour level match in quite some time. If he can manage to get 3-4 matches in against quality opponents before Wimbledon, I think his chances for a bit of a run there are going to be quite good.

On Medvedev's side of the draw and will likely face Jordan Thompson next. It would be great to see him take on Danill on the Dutch grass.

Raonic is in the Wimbledon main draw right? His protected ranking is 33. Unfortunately he can't use that ranking for seeding.
With the right draw he can do some damage. NextGen players have no weapons on grass.
This could make me watch Wimbledon... maybe...

Of course, we had the guy who will not be named because I don't want to get Girly angry (initials GR) who defected from Canada to Britain.
Daniel Nestor was the first guy who put Canadian men's tennis on the map and what a career he had in men's doubles. That's the thing though, because most of his success came in doubles, it just doesn't carry the same weight as singles. Milos and Vasek came up at the same time and the funny thing is that Vasek was the better player in their junior days, but Milos developed that killer serve along with fine-tuning the rest of his game and the rest is history. More respect needs to be given to Milos for being a real gamechanger as far as men's tennis is concerned in Canada as he paved the way for guys like Felix and Denis and showed yes you can compete at the highest level of men's tennis.

He will be a bracket buster for sure as long as he doesn't have terribly bad luck and end up facing one of the top 8 seeds in the first 2 rounds. Let's just hope that he gets a few more meaningful matches and makes it through Libema and the Queens Club next week with a clean bill of health.

Maybe Milos can teach Denis how to serve in his post-retirement days? 2 aces to 11 double faults in a three set loss to Fucsovics on the Stuttgart grass.

Even if that were accurate, is that a bad thing? Most of the NextGen players between 4-20 in ranking are hugely flawed in a variety of ways, some with pitiful serves and others that have no variety.
It is very refreshing to watch a guy like Milos go to work with a very good gameplan that maximizes his serve, forehand and net play versus some of these young players that just swing for the fences or are unable to play a style that will allow them to win matches that they should win consistently.

I'm not sure that I see him as a coaching type of a guy, but you never know. I'm not sure Shapo would even feel that his serve needs attention to be honest.
I watched the Milos interview and certainly got the feeling that he is open to playing next season if he can have his body hold up well enough. Here's hoping he comes through the grass season healthy and is willing to play the US Open and a couple more indoor events to end the season.
It would be great if he would give 1 more full season a go as I think he can still compete with the top players on tour and he may be primed for big things with a new appreciation for playing on tour.

This is perhaps the weakest era in grass court tennis ever. If Raonic is healthy and happy I could absolutely see him making the 2nd week.
