Also: Tonight I learned that the ECHL has seven minute long overtime periods.

The Rush are four points back of a playoff spot with six games to go (three of which are against league powerhouse Idaho).
I imagine Nikolaev and Kerins will be back with the Wranglers as black aces once the Rush are eliminated. Both have played well despite injuries and are ready to move up from the ECHL.

Nikolaev with a goal and an assist (+2) as the Rush lose 4-3 in OT to Wichita. Kerins (-2) held off the scoresheet.
Wichita and Kansas City are fighting for the fourth (and final) Mountain Division playoff spot with 68 points apiece. Rapid City sits at 66.

How tight is it in the Mountain Division?
Three points separate the second-place team from the sixth place team. The first-place Idaho Steelheads are runaway leaders with 113.
The Rush are off until next week when they play three games against those same Steelheads, so they certainly have their work cut out for them.

Both Ilya Nikolaev and Rory Kerins (IR) have been placed on Reserve for the last game of the Rush's regular season today. Both important players to the team.
Might they be on the way to Calgary, to either rehab or to join the Wranglers' taxi squad?

Thanks. Basically just following box scores after the fact..
Worth tracking the two ELC kids (Nikolaev and Kerins). Both had injuries this season but otherwise has strong ECHL campaigns and looked decent when called up to the Wranglers. I'd say both are in the AHL next season.
None of the other Flames draftees and guys on AHL contracts really popped. I suspect neither Feuk or Chechelev will be back.
