Ciona has 40% of his point total from a year ago, in 11% of the games played.

From seeing him at camp, he has obviously improved his skating exponentially. He was so slow in his draft, many thought he would never be a legit NHL prospect.

So what's up with Ciona kid? I don't follow our prospects closely like the rest of you. 6th round pick, but in the tops in WHL scoring? Would be amazing if this scouting team found another diamond in the rough similar to Mangiapane.

I'm more interested in undrafted Austin Roest than Ciona still. But Ciona is cool.

Ciona is clearly a small sample size at the moment.
Hopefully he has a big break out year, but based on his past performance I would expect his pace to cool of significantly.

Agreed. The current pace he’s keeping isn’t sustainable for a player like Ciona. He’s improved astronomically though, which is good to see.

His ceiling is more of a 4th line grinder, but for a 6th rounder even that would be a win.

Ciona had 1g,1a,+1 in a 5-4 win over Prince George. 8gp/7g/10a/17pts,+14, 4 PIM, tied for 7th in WHL scoring, and 1st in plus/minus. Seattle sits in 1st place in the Western Conference, with a 9-0 record. Red Deer is 1st overall, with a 12-0 record.
You might remember Chris Sedoff, who impressed at Flames rookie camp, but wasn't given a contract-he's tied for 5th in D scoring in the WHL, with 11 points in 10 games, and tied for 4th overall in the league in plus/minus at +12. Hopefully, the Flames will still sign him before some other team does.

Yeah, Sedoff. He seemed to be instantly liked on here in when he was in camp. He was a really good puck mover, and the Flames could REALLY use that in the system.
