William Strömgren
IMO perhaps one of the more intriguing boom or bust prospects in the Flames system. It appears he has all the tools, question is does he have the toolbox for the NHL?
Is in the J20 at the moment and not with the men's team right now.

Small sample size but that’s not a very good start to be 7th on your team in scoring in a league you would like to have already graduated this season. Also snubbed from the junior team’s summer games
I think one thing we have learned is we need to get our prospects out of Europe earlier unless they are absolutely thriving

Definitely not a huge jump to early conclusions!

First words of the post are “small sample size”
And what conclusion did I present?

I am excited for this kid. I really liked him in the U-18s, big and fast.

I am confused about the CHL. Is it the same club teams that would play in their respective home leagues competing in a euro wide league ( I see swiss and czech league teams are included, are other leagues?) Is it a separate league team run by the same organization?

It's a tournament that consists of top teams of the highest tier of 6 leagues across Europe. For example, in 2016-17, the winner was Frolunda from Sweden, with the runner-up being Sparta Praha of the Czech league. I believe it's a IIHF sanctioned event.

William Strömgren (Rogle) had 2 goals in a 5-4 win yesterday.

I'd say it has definitely been a very disappointing start to the season for Stromgren. His production should be significantly better in the J20 League.
For some context he had 18 points in 14 games in the same league last year.

Yes his product is down a fair amount compared to last year.
However, I wouldn't doubt if he's also getting fewer minutes. In 2020-2021, he was MoDo Jr's leading scorer. This year for Rogle BK Jr, he's only 5th in team scoring and some guys like Oscar Johnsson are putting up huge numbers.
It doesn't even look like Stromgren is on the top line, so I'm not sure about the powerplay time. Hopefully we can see him play for Rogle BK Angelholm at some point?

Swedish hockey is impossible. A guy will have 6 points in 30 games and there’ll be an accompanying tweet like “only Peter Forsberg, Kent Nilsson and The Sedins have ever produced at such a clip in that league at that age”.
Then Stromgren Is PPG and it’s like “he was 3 PPG last year in the same league, disappointing”.
Hyperbole.

It’s probably not easy to go from J20 to the SHL and back throughout a season. That’s a massive talent gap
It would be like going from the AHL to the BCHL. The game is going to be played totally different
I think we need to start getting our prospects out of Europe quicker. Our only two Euro picks that panned out were Backlund (WHL) and Kylington (AHL) and both came over early on
It I understand correctly he played one game with the senior club, put up 3 points for them, and then got sent down?

The league he is playing in would be a lot weaker than CHL, probably comparable to Junior A in Canada or less
Rasmus played in it when he was 14 IIRC
