Have to think this is the next market to get an NHL team whether it's via relocation or new team.

Wouldn't this require Vegas to move to the Central division?

This is great news, I just think Seattle would be a good fit for the NHL. It would take some shuffling around but ultimately the coyotes moving to Quebec would fix everything!

No, Seattle does not have an NHL team.

Makes the most sense to balance the conferences. Would Arizona move t the central to make room for Seattle?

Privately financed - it begs the question, why can't the Flames do the same? Or at minimum, privately finance the majority of the project?

Or home games. That is not a threat.

I look forward to the moment the Flames threaten to move to Seattle, because they have an arena deal secured...that is privately financed.

It is certainly no accident that those renders show a hockey configuration rather than basketball. Though Seattle will undoubtedly end up with teams in both the NHL and NBA.

Pretty much confirms also that Quebec City's hope is a Carolina or Florida relocation.

I suggest future division breakdown looks something like this:

Pacific

Anaheim
Las Vegas
Los Angeles
Portland (Florida)
Phoenix
San Jose
Seattle (Expansion)
Vancouver

Central

Calgary
Chicago
Colorado
Dallas
Edmonton
Minnesota
St. Louis
Winnipeg

Atlantic

Nashville
New Jersey
NY Islanders
NY Rangers
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Tampa
Washington

Northeast

Boston
Buffalo
Columbus
Detroit
Montreal
Ottawa
Quebec (Carolina)
Toronto

Allows for possible movement of Winnipeg to Houston or Kansas City. if the league wants to establish the Central as more American, and not impact the divisional breakdown.

"Tentative" and "Deal" are words that don't work well together.
