I wish I would have jumped on that plan.
The new ones aren't the best.

Had an idea!

One has to think with the prices that Wind has and to now include band 4 LTE, they should gain quite a few subscribers which might force better prices from the big 3.

Looks like Shaw will be using home modems to provide additional hotspots.

My other beef is when it connects to that wifi on the corner of 10th and 14th when I am driving and kills my spotify.
I wouldn’t ever call shaw hotspot any reason to switch. Service sucks.

Switched to Freedom today after 12 years on Bell. It took Bell less than 2 minutes to call me after the porting process started and try and keep me. I was literally signing my name to a Freedom contract when the called.
Kind of fun to throw back at them 12 years of them declining to upgrade my phone without grandfathering me my old plan....and not really caring about what they said to keep me.

What type of phone do you have? Is this on band 4 or band 66?

I have a Moto X (2nd Generation). I think it's band 4, but don't know for sure.

Yes. It will be band 4 since there is no band 66 support and I don't think band 7 and 13 haven't launched yet.

Freedom will be offering the iPhone X for $0 upfront.
It will be interesting to see if the big guys offer anything to keep people.

Here’s the link to the free iPhone X on freedom article. Considering 99% of my usage is in the city, it’s tempting.

Yeah that's a really good deal for people that don't do a lot of travelling outside the city or stick to major centers. It's good to finally see a carrier break out of the current market collusion.

Isn't this Freedom iPhone X plan going back to the concept of "Tabs" where after 2 years, you still have a huge balance left on the phone so you're stuck with Freedom until you pay it off?
edit: Nm, didn't realize how ridiculous the upfront costs were for the X on some of the carriers. Wow, I can't believe Rogers is trying to get almost $800 upfront!

Hm, I might have access to one of those 35% off codes, and with Freedom now supporting iPhones and them apparently improving their network, it might be worth jumping in.

iPhone X is sold out already. They aren’t sure if they can deliver on anymore orders. looks like they want to talk like the big 3 but still can’t seem to deliver

If you are having network issues on Wind/Freedom try toggling Airplane mode.
I couldn't make phone calls and no data until I tried that.

How you guys finding the connection quality from where you're based? I spend a lot of my time around the university campus, so if you have feedback there that'll be great. Also, how's the quality outside the home network? In particular around the mountain regions.
