It is also nice to have those teams there to eat the loses. Take them out and now you have a bunch of teams with 4-5 losses or the decent, not great teams, become the doormats and I am not sure that is what they will want.

Maybe for the absolute doormats, Rutgers, Northwestern, Vanderbilt you might want to move them out but I think there is a place for the low level teams that are ok with 1-3 wins in conference play most years.

This also pretty much has to guarantee we see a 3 loss national champion sooner than later right? Conference play just got so much tougher. SOS is going to be a massive factor in the rankings.

For those who haven’t been following along:

The NCAA backed out of their tentative agreement for Harbaugh’s 4 game ban and now Michigan has self imposed a 3 game ban. I was told Harbaugh would fight this and be an ahole but it seems instead they attempted to negotiate with the NCAA, the NCAA acted in bad faith (there were many unallowable public comments by them), and now Michigan is self imposing. Fun turn of events

Arizona State has self-imposed a bowl ban for the 2023 season, the school announced Sunday, choosing to sanction itself over violations committed under former coach Herm Edwards.

"Arizona State University has informed the NCAA and Pac-12 conference that it will self-impose a one-year postseason ban on its football program for the upcoming season," athletic director Ray Anderson said in a statement. "In light of the ongoing investigation and our membership obligation to maintain the confidentiality of the matter, we will not be commenting further at this time."

The team was informed of the bowl ban Sunday morning, with a source telling ESPN's Pete Thamel that the reaction in the meeting was "devastating" to the players, especially among the more than 20 seniors.

I knew Sanders was tearing things up in Boulder....but holy crap!

When the Buffaloes take the field in Fort Worth, Texas, against No. 17 TCU on Saturday (noon ET, Fox), the only resemblance to last year's team will be the uniforms. Only 10 scholarship players from the 2022 roster remain with the team. The team's 86 new players come from all over -- from high school to junior college to the SEC -- including nine who followed Sanders from Jackson State, led by Shedeur Sanders, Deion's son and CU's starting QB, and Travis Hunter, the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2022 class. According to ESPN Stats & Information data, it's the most incoming players to an FBS roster since the inception of the transfer portal in 2018.

I would love to see a penalty system for sports in general where the guilty are punished in a way that doesn’t penalize the innocent. I don’t really have an answer other than harsh financial penalties.

Can't imagine how crazy it must be for Deion to be watching his son absolutely ball out, some of these throws are NFL-caliber good.

It will be interesting to see how Deion manages himself needing to be the focus of everything and wanting to overhype his loser son as well. Can't imagine he wants anyone to take the focus off him but also wants to pretend that his son is somehow great struggling to beat dentists and accountants last season.

They certainly will be a must see team this year, great offense and bad defense teams are always the most fun.

Congrats to Deion, he is an absolute horrible human being but seems to be able to attract top players to come play for him.

Stetson Bennett had no problem putting up points last year against a better TCU team.

Sanders played in a high school level league last season and was good not great, not sure one game says much about this d-bag.

Stetson Bennett is an NFLer this year right?

What’s your issue with Deion?

Regardless of how badly one tries to moon that win it was amazing. Last year CU was unquestionably the worst power 5 team in recent memory and possibly the worst college team of all time. To go from that to beating the national runner up the next year is wild.

Maybe it was all adrenaline and smoke and mirrors but there’s not a pundit or fan in the country that thought they’d cover the 20.5 spread let alone win. Shocking and part of why college football is so great

Congrats! you are the grumpiest person on the internet! lol how many buckets of water did Sanders dump on your head? lol

500 yards against TCU... 20 point dogs was ridiculous.

Who were the idiots on ESPN who said Colorado was the worst college football team in the league?
