I saw that concert at the Dome and it was one of the more entertaining concerts I've been to. Dave put together an all star band with Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, and Gregg Bissonette and they didn't disappoint as there were some incredible solos and Diamond Dave at that time was still a great front man.

As someone who doesn't watch a lot of TV/movies I struggle so much with this new social media trend of referring to everyting by initials. I literally have no idea what half the people are talking about, lol.

I know what you mean, but in this case the show is actually just called "The OA".

No Sir you do not do that.
I mean 1984 as an entire album is pretty cheesy hair rock, it just helps that it's ####ing awesome, too. Also pretty much all of the Hagar years are super cheesy and terrible.

The songs 1984 and Jump are cheesy. We never need to hear those again. The rest is straight up awesome.

Drop Dead Legs is super cheesy lyrically but has a bad ass guitar riff.

I'll Wait is still my favorite song off of that Album

House of Pain felt like vintage VH at the time

My post was regarding Van Halen, not Van Hagar (which is ####ing horrible).

This song is straight up awesome!

I had a similar reaction finishing season 1. I mean, Brit Marling is clearly a freaking genius, but that does not mean that the show itself is great... there is a ton there and a lot of it is really original and interesting, and in some cases executed in a beautiful way. But structurally and performance wise it doesn't feel that solid. That's not intended as a major knock on the show, it's just to try to describe it as more interesting and thoughtful than it is... good.

Anyway I only noticed that there was a season 2 a couple of days ago, and was pretty surprised. I thought they'd axed it. I think I'm going to re-watch the whole first season again before watching season 2.

5150 was a huge album during my senior year of high school. I'll always have a soft spot for Sammy's days with the band.

Finished watching Bodyguard. Loved it, although the last episode felt like they crammed the ideas for two episodes into one. Pacing got odd imo.

But overall I enjoyed it and glad I'm glad there's some serious rumours out there for another season

You also can find Dave’s vocal track from this song isolated, which is in itself a thing of beauty.

IMO it's their best overall album after the original Van Halen debut album.

good solid pop songs. but I dislike that album.

partly as I was never a hagar fan, and I didn't like the shift in their sound.

jus thought they lost their rock edge and became a boring pop rock band.

DLR was a perfect frontman for van halen with his over the top showmanship and sense of humor. I can never picture hager pulling off ice cream man.

Quick aside: You know how sometimes on your iPod one song is louder than the others? For years, “Panama” was that song for me. When this happened for non-“Panama” songs, I’d grab my iPod and turn it down as quick as possible. For “Panama,” I would turn it up.
I would turn it up.
I would turn it up.
I. WOULD. TURN. IT. UP.
R.I.P. Steve Jobs.
Does it hold up?
Embarrassing question. Yes, it holds up. It might be holding this entire goddamned country up.

It goes back to the Motley Crue Vince Neil discussion of what you prefer. A better front man or a better singer. Now that the days of MTV are over I much prefer a better singer.
