Their hair was all bad, especially Nikki Sixx. I kept getting him and Mick Mars mixed up.

Pete Davidson was embarrassingly bad. I hope he was being awful on purpose.

Edit: having said that, I did enjoy the movie in a Spinal Tap sort of way. It was cheesy fun.
Well in the 80s/90s he sounded a hell of a lot better than that....band was still up to snuff

No confusion if you watch Game of Thrones.

Mick Mars was the same actor as Ramsey Bolton.

I always wondered what the next acting gig was for a guy who plays a really dislikeable character

And good hell, was that some awful vocal work in the video AC linked. Yikes.

Was never a big Motley Crue fan but I still enjoyed the movie for the most part. The first hour was pretty good and then it dragged a little in the last half. A solid 3/5 for me.

If you're saying he could get out more than two words at a time without losing his breath, then yes he was better in the 80s, but I saw them three times back then and he was never what I would call good live. That Rock In Rio performance is embarrassingly bad. I would demand a refund if I was subjected to that.

Ah, that's where I recognized him from. He did the best job of the four and I always like Mick Mars.

Outside of some really great vocal talents most lead singers in their 50's and later are shadows of what they were earlier in their careers. Remember that Van Halen reunion? It was sad seeing David Lee Roth in that state. IMO the best Motley Crue vocal performance was on their self titled 1994 album and it's because it's the album Jon Corabi replaced Neil. That was actually a really good album but it came at a time when grunge and alternative had taken over the scene and nobody gave it a chance.

I like Motley Crue but thought the movie was pretty bad.

And lol at the video AC posted. That about sums up the two times I saw Motley Crue live. Band can still do their thing, especially Sixx and Lee, but damn Vince is just done

All you of guys wasting time watching the Dirt when you could’ve been watching Death of Stalin. One of my favourite movies from last year. It’s the blackest of black comedies.

Great fun movie, and what makes it more fun, is it basically follows the actual history of the turn over in power from Stalin.

Really great cast of actors as well, though physically Buscemi looked more like Beria and Simon Russell Beale looked more like Khrushchev

Specifically came to pimp Death of Stalin. What a sneaky little masterpiece.

Just started watching it, and love it so far, but, indeed, what a weird casting choice - I was confused to start with because Beria is Khrushchev and vice versa. Weird. It's almost like someone f'ed up. Just have to remember the old Soviet joke: photo in Pravda with caption "General Secretary N.S.Khruschev among the pigs on a visit to collective pig farm. N.S. Khrushchev is second from left."

Watched The Dirt tonight, I was disappointed in the movie overall. It had a feeling of one of those old ABC after School specials and it really glossed over a lot of things. The actors just weren't that good in their roles either.

I didn't recognize Wags from Billions without the beard.

I was expecting more.

I have to say that I was a big Motley Crue fan, I would rank the concert I saw in Dallas as one of the best most high energy concerts that I've ever seen, but this was in 89 so Vince could still sing.

Some of their best songs, Kick Start my heart, Doctor Feel Good for example pass the highway test. They just make you want to turn up the volume and drive fast.

I want to add that one of the best portrayals of Khruschev was still by Bob Hoskins in Enemy at the Gates.

There's an excellent book Stalin the Court of the Red Tsar and within it you learn how absolutely ruthless he was and how he dealt with Beria in itself is a story that has to be read.

BTW the book is by Simon Sebag Montefiore.

Yes, he also wrote Young Stalin, which is effectively vol 1 though published later...

Just finished watching Icarus.

Holy ####ing ####. Absolutely insane.

So is there any doubt that Russia Fifa team was doping too given their miraculous deep run?

I never doubt the Russians. Their penchant for creative cheating is almost admirable.

Don’t watch The Dirt on an airplane. Too many eyes on the softporn scenes.

Also, I enjoyed the movie. The 80s were radical.

I enjoyed The Dirt for what it was (I have read a lot about their hijinks so there were no revelations or surprises) but I felt it was too condensed as it could have been spread out into a few episodes as they jumped from one crisis to the next. I actually thought the drummer did a pretty good job copying a lot of Lee's little mannerisms and Ramsay Bolton did a pretty good job on Mars. That said I didn't think the actors that did Vince and Nikki were nearly as good. Shout out for the girl that played Heather Locklear as from some angles she was a dead ringer. Still for those that were maybe too young to know what the 80's heavy metal scene was like it kind of gives a glimpse of the over the top lifestyles these guys lived as I feel even with the drug and alcohol abuse they had more fun than a lot of the grunge bands of the 90's that were overly serious and a lot of the lead singers were clinically depressed.

Watched The Miami Showband Massacre.

Was all right in the sense it didn't tell me anything I felt I didn't know but glad to see these sort of programs done so the whole world can see the sort of state sponsored terrorism and murder of their own civilians the British government were up to, all the while presenting their self righteous holier than though persona to the world.

A little late to the party, but I have enjoyed it thoroughly, we're almost to the end of season 3, and can't wait to devour season 4.

There's so much going on and there's been quite a few "Holy Crap" moments.

Really good TV.
