When they were trying to figure out who the highwaymen were "Maybe it's that splintered off group of Saviours.." Carol: "No, it's not them".

LOL, I was hoping the King would ask Carol to elaborate on her response.

I can't figure out how they gone back to colonial ways...But still have flashlights.
And why don't they have a radio network for communications between settlements.
So much wrong with this show now...
But I still watch.

I thought it was pretty funny how they made a show of having a solar panel power the lighting for the fair. Yay, lights! I can't wait to see how good they look at night! Uhhh, hey, where'd our lights go?

I can imagine what a CP Walking Dead viewing party would be like. "That's fake, no way that would happen, that's dumb." So very fun.
I think they've done a great job with the Whisperers. Pretty cool to see all that transpire the way it has. and I'm surprised I'm still watching with Rick out of the picture.

I think its due to Angela Kang really keeping the story good. I don't really remember a full filler episode so far this season.

I'm only watching because I feel they owe us all an ending. I'm prepared for it to be underwhelming, but I just gotta know.

That's exactly how the last season of Dexter was for me.

Ugh, I had tried to purge that from my memory...to no avail.

Okay, but it's going at least one more season and probably more. Why torture yourself? When it does end there will lots of attention, and no doubt lots of articles that will let you get caught up.

I actually like the “Movie” bit with the Highwaymen, it’s a nice bit of levity, which I believe the series needs from time to time.

It's far from torture, and I'm not a guy that's much into the CliffsNotes versions of pop culture.

Agreed.
But further to that, consider that it's been nearly a decade since the world fell, and it might be their first time in 10 years to see a movie. I know I get squirrelly when I don't see a movie for a few weeks, never mind 10 years. But put yourself in their shoes. They are actually interested in commodities, and that is likely the rarest commodity of all in this new world. It must be boring as hell trying to pass the free time. Heck, the lady that dispensed knowledge only wanted records in return. Seem silly? Not if you've been playing solitaire for 10 straight years.
TL;DR
I thought it was actually quite believable.

I admit that I actually liked the scene as well. However, it's frustrating when the show has skirted with so much desperation for resources and security, and what flips these folks isn't mutual access to that but rather a movie.
The leader of these highway people is a bit corny, too. Reminds me of the black hat perfume cowboy in that Friends episode.

I like the corniness of the Highwaymen.
It isn't much different than the Kingdom. It's giving the group something to rally around and an identity.
I don't know how realistic it is but I enjoyed their introduction into this world.

That's a good point. I flipped on the Kingdom once Ezekiel and his backstory was developed, so maybe I should give these folks a chance, too.

They threw me for a loop earlier this season when they showed the brand on Michonne. I thought it meant that she'd been in prison before the world went to hell.

I thought it was a very good episode, other than the Judith stuff. Nice to see why Michone is so distrustful, even with friends.
