NTLX up 10% today.

I expect the companies who are without trying to be in a position to have their subscription rate or daily users increase as a result of people staying home will do well the next few months.

Could be a good way to offset many losses.

We have tried to convince him to go into data analytics in University, to no avail.

The REITs are getting killed. All sectors. Great buying opportunities.

I lost a little chunk of change on a REIT more recently not paying attention to it, and recently sold it. If the idea behind a reit is that money from expansion fees are paid to you (and it could be more than this), but the market right now is not about growth and more about minimizing costs, where’s the opportunity? Seems like catching a falling knife with some of these possibly cutting the yield in the coming months. Just my thought.

I'm not sure about REITs. Will retail look the same after this is said and done? Maybe, and maybe it's just a blip, but maybe this will only fuel the shift from retail to online businesses

Smart REIT seems solid though with WalMart as their major tenant

I'm not sure if anyone else trades actively here, but I'm wondering if anyone has noticed way more halts in trading on individual stocks. It seems like relatively small moves are tripping breakers now. In particular today IMAC was halted several times. THMO as well and for a long time. IMAC didn't reverse after any of the halts either.

Yes because it wasn't super active when it was halted. It was an orderly increase whereas the halts I've seen before were after much larger and faster jumps. I've just noticed over the last week the halts are different. More of them and for less.

I haven't noticed that, but I'm not trading penny stocks, so I couldn't say. I wasn't taking a shot at you though. I just think that when a stock rises 875% you have to anticipate it's going to be halted. I think that is just normal course of business when things appear to be hyperbolic.

I think the halts occur when intraday spikes in price happen, like any trading that is a certain percentage above the last five minutes of trading. The over all price gain on the day is not what triggers a halt. Normally I see halts on stocks that explode on news, like 20-30%% in a few seconds. IMAC just steadily climbed throughout the day. In fact the biggest 2 minute candles of the day did not trigger a halt. So I don't really get it.

I wonder if they are using a different algo now that identifies day/pattern trading. There seems to be a move towards curbing pattern trading and taking out some of the technical trading and computerized trading. Just curious if there's a new halt based on that. IMAC was very characteristic of trading patterns today.

Anyway, I hope there are more of these in the near futire. They developed a telehealth business that goes well with the covid hysteria. So much emotional buying now. Just add Covid to your pharmaco name and put money in the bank.

Bigger question is why didn't you tell us about it?

I thought we were friends....

Haha. Yeah I can only be responsible for my own losses though. Sure as hell the first day trade I post would be a stinker.

Sounds like the aid package of $2 trillion has been agreed upon in principle and will be finalized tomorrow. Should provide some relief (though many were speculating today as deal day so tough to say) but I'm really interested how long it lasts with the out-of-control situation in New York right now, and soon to be other states.

Tomorrow will be fun for trading for anyone able to dedicate most of their attention to hourly - or more frequent - events.

I bought some Suncor. It was in the 15s recently and is about 17. Lowest it has been in years.

They got pounded recently but I like their integrated model. Having the capacity to refine their own production should expose them less than companies that have 50/50 JVs with refiners like Cenovus (P66) and Husky (BP). Their business model positions them relatively decently to deal with volatility

They did have a massive capex cut today and had an up day even as WCS got beaten up even more.
