Default Flames @ Golden Knights 8:30pm (SN1)

The Calgary Flames are playing T-Mobile Arena tonight in Sin City as they take on the Las Vegas Golden Knights on SportsNet 1.

Projected starters which have proven to be unreliable this early in the morning are David Rittich for the Flames and legend around my neck of the woods, Marc-André Fleury for the Knights. https://leftwinglock.com/starting-goalies

The Flames have lost their last two games but currently sit three points up on San Jose in the Western Conference.

The Golden Knights are 3rd in the Pacific Division 12, but are on a 4 game winning streak.

Calgary's overall record is 41-18-7-89
Las Vegas 36-26-5-77

The game will be broadcast nationally on SportsNet 1.

Go Flames Go

I believe Smith is expected to start, but don't take my word as gospel.

The turtle hungers for a win this evening. Also enjoys slots and blackjack in Vegas, but wants those bug 2 points more than anything.

I'm only going by the website cited above. However, I'm finding it very unreliable. If it turns out to be Smith I'm going to drop that part of the write-up.

Rittich had the starters net in practice yesterday so he seems the safe bet, but yeah who knows. I'd expect Smith tomorrow against Arizona.

Anything can happen in Vegas, right?

February 21st, 2017, the Flames played in Las Vegas for the first time. As soon as we saw this game on the calendar, my wife and I planned our honeymoon around it (and the Canucks (Boo!) game for her on the 23rd).

For my Bucket List, I scratched off Las Vegas. I also put it out there into the Universe that I wanted to somehow meet Johhny Gaudreau, and I figured since it was the Mom's trip, Mrs. Gaudreau herself.

Hey, you never know.

The morning of the game, I was checking Twitter and with about one minutes detective work, figured out where they were staying. We got our stuff together and went for a walk. When we got there, we checked out their hotel, which was definitely not casino-ish (I decided not to include the name of the hotel, because for crying out loud, do your own detective work) and took this picture:

https://twitter.com/NitsujlovesLeah/...444510210?s=19

And I figured, that's that, I'll throw it on Twitter and maybe Johnny can see it. So we left.

Getting off the elevator, we come around the corner and who do we see?

https://twitter.com/NitsujlovesLeah/...726577666?s=19

Monahan, Gaudreau and TJ Brodie! I couldn't believe it! I was excited, shook Johnny's hand and got this photo! All three were gracious and I really only took a minute of their time, which to me is a lot. I didn't ask to get my jersey signed because I really just wanted the picture. And that actually is my happy face. I also know I'm short, but didn't realize just how short until standing next to Gaudreau.

My wife and I were so excited on our way back to the hotel we almost walked right past some Flames Moms:
Mrs. Giordano, Mrs. Brodie and.....Mrs. Gaudreau!

Bucket List, complete!

Stopped and talked to them for a minute and made sure to let them know how accomodating their sons were.

And didn't get a picture. Unfortunate.

So today in Las Vegas, I hope the boys are around and some lucky Flames fan(s) get to cross something off their own Bucket List. Do what you gotta do. Enjoy the day and Go Flames Go!!!

(This is my first time trying to post a picture so I hope it worked)

- Keep Stastny at bay. That guy loves playing the Flames.
- If at first you don't succeed, aim elsewhere. Mix up your shots.
- Head on a swivel with Reaves out there.
- Don't let this become another Anaheim. Get the 1st win at T-Mobile out of the way.

Please win. That is all.

Oh, and if our goalie could stop a puck or two, that would be a nice bonus.

I was at the last game in Vegas and it sure seemed like the boys had been out the night before. It was a lacklustre game on the ice (the rest of the production and the venue was awesome).

VGK're playing great right now, and have a great goalie.

Flames playing like a fire drill at a daycare in comparison, and the record in Vegas is ..... all losses, no?

Don't like the chances for a W tonight.

Flames are gonna take a beating tonight if they don’t refocus on defence. I expect a good thumping by Vegas which is what the team needs to wake them up hopefully. This week with Vegas twice will make or break the team.

Good god. “Playing like a fire drill at a daycare”?

This is ridiculous. The Flames actually looked really good for long stretches in both their last two games despite the results. They’ll be fine.
