Amazing pass by KDB, City just can't be stopped this season.

The game stats indicate that City have greater than 80% possession? Now with that goal this could get ugly.

Newscastle finally need to push forward and almost score, you can't beat this city team by sitting back. They are too good and are getting all the breaks. Need to be aggressive and make them uncomfortable, they are in their element when they have the ball just like Peps Barca teams. Like Barcelona they are most vulnerable when a team puts pressure on their defense and midfielders and that's when they will start to look uncomfortable but premier league teams haven't figured that out yet. Sitting back may work a few times but Pep's teams are too good at breaking down teams that have no interest in attacking

In the first 22 minutes of the game a total of three Newcastle players had completed one pass successfully. In a depraved way I kinda wish City didn't score just to see how negative Newcastle could get.

Reminds me of the Liverpool-Everton game. Just kick it as far away from your goal as you can.

I'm assuming Newcastle's plan is to get to the last 10 minutes and switch from 10-0-0 to 8-1-1, but we'll see

Maybe they'll get a soft penalty to tie it up, the ol' 'Everton Special.'

Well that was awful. Hopefully Roy gives it a bit more of a go on Sunday.

Who do you actually cheer for? Either way though, pinning your hopes to Crystal Palace is one hell of a Hail Mary.

Wow, that kind of money for VDV is insane. I mean sure, he's OK, but hardly world class? It's an enormous amount of cash for Southampton and obviously they couldn't say no. And it will help Liverpool for sure. But my god that's an incredible amount of money for a pretty average player.

I don't cheer for anyone. It's really hard for me to start cheering for someone when I never really did cheer for anyone growing up. I watched United the most, of course, since they were always the team on TV. Now, well, I only ever really watch them when it's a big game or the only game on, because I find them kinda dull. I'm glad I never became attached because it'd be hard for me to wanna keep watching them week in and out since there are other teams who play more attractively. And over the years I've turned into more of a consumer than a fan. With so many options, why limit yourself if the product is poor?
There are definitely teams I enjoy watching more than others. Liverpool, for instance, are one of the teams I watch the most because they're fun going forward, and a trainwreck at the back (probably not for much longer) which means the entertainment value is always there. I like watching Spurs too, and of course Arsenal since I need to be abreast of what to expect on AFTV. Obviously though City are the most enjoyable to watch right now, but I like that if their football turns dire I can just ignore them.

Yeah, its a lot of cash, but the market is what it is.
Hes 25, if he improves or lives up to potential we could have the cornerstone of our Central Defence for the better part of the next decade.
Thats the hope. But yeah, its a lot of money but one of the things that I have a hard time doing is distancing my opinions and expectations of the player from the cost.
In England you have to do that because the rest of the World markets rake the EPL over the coals, they have to pay a huge premium, if he were British that price would have been double.

That is a very interesting way to look at sports.

A solid CB at times can be just as valuable depending on team needs.
Prices are determined by the market and the teams, part of this fee is a bit of a Liverpool Tax I'm sure.

I'm just reading some of the expectations of VVD and Shaka Hislop is hilarious.
"Hes going to come into Liverpool and think: I'm better than anything they've got right now so that should alleviate expectations somewhat."
Thanks Shaka. Although I think you're selling Matip a little short. I'm a huge fan of Matip, my only beef is that hes been paired with Klavan and Lovren.

Comparing Klopps comments when United bought Pogba in 2016 to what he's said now after buying VVD is hilarious. The hypocrisy is strong with "The Normal One".

Still not quite as funny as Mourinho bitching about not having enough spending money when he's been basically given a blank chequebook the last two summers.

They're all as bad as politicians when it comes to hypocrisy.
