I think Barrie will land here. Tree just finished making the biggest most important FA signing of his tenure. I bet he's feeling it now.

Meh, I think some potential suitors will see TJs offensive histroy and think the salary difference is worth it for the better line driver.

Gudas would have been really nice. I wonder if snagging cernak is still somehow possible.

I think moving Ryan is necessary if we're playing Bennett at C, even though he is a great player. I am still undecided on the benefit of keeping bennett at this point rather than trying to sell at peak value, but I think management is resolved to try him out full time there.

Wonder what kind of offers toffoli is seeing right now.
Ryan also only has 1 year whereas Johnson has 4 more years at the heftier price.

Anyone @ league minimum. This is about money at this point. Paying a 4th line center $3.125M is not wise, not when they have Lucic eating up $5.25M. One of them has to go, and since Lucic is untradeable, its Ryan that has to go.

Looking over the cap situation across the NHL, there isn't a ton of cap space to go around. So while a Pietrangelo is likely to get a premium, there are going to be a lot of guys that will have to settle for less. If I'm Treliving, I may be tempted to step back from here on out in hopes bargains emerge.

I agree that if we can unload Ryan we should.

Eklund has the Canucks looking at Krug.

He’s supposedly turned down 6 x $6.5M from Boston already.

No idea how the Canucks plan on making that work if they go get him for $7M+

Just slot Gawdin in at 4th line C

But if they can make that work under the cap somehow that would be amazing.

Better - I dunno. Cheaper? Sure, and if you have the top 3 lines eating more minutes, great. You could go out and sign a cheap 4th line C like, say Melker Karlsson, or maybe you can get Haula at a little cheaper.

Wow

I'm a big Krug fan but to pay him more than that Boston offer is really nuts to me

If you want a smooth skating, hard shooting defensemen who can't defend, just take the reins off Kylington and put him on the powerplay.

It'll cost a lot less.

Can we try this first?

This. Kylington has the most explosive shot of any blue liner in the system - if Brodie could shoot it like OK, he’d have a Norris trophy on his mantle.

Im not sure if bennett or monahan are consistent enough for pk center time. Ryan is good there. Plus he can play up and down the line for injuries. And good at faceoffs (i think).

Flames need a legit winger. I think Grandlund.
