Can't quote you Text:
I actually wrote you a long response - then I remembered you ridiculed me in the past for long responses. I am going to keep it brief.
Your analogy is flawed at a basic level, not because you attempted to use an analogy. Of course an analogy is useful in illuminating a point or idea, but only when it is a good analogy. Otherwise, it just creates more confusion. Yours had that effect. For starters, the Governor General represents the Monarchy of a foreign nation. Last time I checked, the captain of the Flames does not represent the original owners of the Atlanta Flames. A better analogy would be... the role of the male lion in a pride. I don't know. I didn't think an analogy was necessary here at all as the role of the captain is fairly well understood - it is the impact that we are disagreeing on, no? So no, the analogy that you came up with does not shed any light at all.
I will just skip down to your final point here for brevity. I do not come here for the mockery, the insinuations of stupidity, and so on. I come here for good discussions, and a good discussion is usually to be found with a differing viewpoint, rather than an echo chamber. That's boring. What's worse than boring? Fighting with some random person online that you don't care about and stopped listening to a long time ago because of HOW that person engages. I think it is best that we just agree to disagree here, since you are 100% right and neither one of us finds the other's opinion remotely convincing.
