If Edmonton passes Vancouver to take the division our 1st becomes a lower pick.
Ottawa and Montreal are 3 points behind us, Arizona is 4.
I'll never say I want the Oilers to beat us but yeah I wont be upset for days if they do.

Colorado didn't even show up in that one. I wouldn't use that game as a barometer of how good the Oilers are.

Double shift Pospisil tonight. I don’t care if we lose.

I'm really not liking Huska lately. I thought he was the right coach for a rebuild, but I am not sure what his plan is now.
|
So he’s not allowed to call out players to hold them accountable?
Is that seriously what you are suggesting?

Huskas lineup decisions are so poor, it’s like he feels it’s too risky to play the kids…
No Zary or Wolf here is a bonehead decision, just silly.

They really need to learn the hate! Be molded by it! Reborn in it!
Get them in there!

As a full-fledged card-carrying member of team rebuild, I hope that Calgary embarrasses the Oilers tonight. For as long as I live, there will never be a single game when I won't wish for that.

I can understand not playing Wolf. He played the last game and lost. Getting shelled against the Oilers probably doesn't help him mentally.
I still see him pretty much as a prospect and shouldn't be thrown out there to sink or swim. Most goalies get eased into it, and he should be no different.

He can call players out and sit them. But it seems to be he only will do this with rookies, not the overpaid vets on the team.
I miss the days of "always earned, never given". And I mean not sitting players like Huberdeau or Mangiapane are great for the tank, but it sends the wrong kind of message when you will sit a rookie for a couple bad games.

What do you think is accomplished by scratching Huberdeau?

It sends a message to the young players that everyone is accountable, no matter how much you make or how long you have been in the league. That is just as important as sitting a young player down because he is struggling. Not that I even agreed with sitting Zary, he was just getting back up to speed from missing time with an injury, that is normal for any player.

He absolutely needs to play against the good teams too. What in the hell does playing Markstrom accomplish tonight? He gets shelled and his value tumbles. Or you give Wolf another start against a good team after a solid showing against the Jets and let Markstrom stone San Jose and pad his numbers. But Huska gonna Huska.

I would say Huska decided to just alternate starts the last number of games.
