turns out it was, pretty hard to deny

just wish someone would have actually bet me when they were spouting off

a year out it seemed pretty obvious Seattle wouldn't have a team anything like Vegas (although they could have picked a better team than this)

Watching Ron Francis make his terrible picks, it was obvious they were going to be terrible.

The Kraken woke up in the third period, but, it was too late. They were down 7-0 and were able to score three goals.

All is well in Canuck land as their five game losing streak has come to an end.

Anyone think the Kraken are trting to get to the bottom in the hope they can draft one of the top picks that are supposed to be coming along in the next couple of drafts? Taking a play out of the oilers book and hoping for a mcavi?

It may work out that way, but I don't think they're doing it on purpose. If that was the plan, they could easily have talked some GMs into trading them picks and prospects in exchange for drafting duds. The fact that they took the duds without any sweeteners suggests incompetence rather than foresight.

I was surprised by the subsequent inactivity during the off season, too

And yeah the expansion draft was kind of nuts.

Dunn is good and all, but loading up on D and then not taking any elite forwards, when some were available - neglecting Tarasenko? Yikes. Hindsight sometimes just reveals the obvious.

I think lots of us could have drafted a better expansion team

even if they wanted a ####ty team they could have drafted better players and traded them for picks. They could have got the Zadorov 3rd themselves instead of some guy in the AHL.

Not to mention the higher end guys like Tarasenko

also, they better figure out a trade for Giordano because if not picking a 38 year old for an expansion team is ridiculous...thank god they didn't take Kylington in hindsight

First of all, everything fell into place just perfectly for the Knights. Along with some savvy moves, they also had a large helping of good fortune. Sometimes, magic just happens.

Also, the second time around, teams were simply not going to make the same mistakes. Everyone learned from the first experience. The redo was always going to be a much more difficult process.

Saying the Knights were great so the Kraken probably will be too, was pretty naive and simplistic, IMO.
