Best advice would be don’t get too low.

A big bounce back against the Leafs would be really good.

Man, some of you act like you thought we’d go the whole season without a losing streak or poorly played game. Not a good night but it happens. On to the next one.

Anyone have a clip of the Gally kick?
Also, that was a brutal crosscheck to Gudbranson by Toffoli.

Flames play has shockingly come slamming back down to Earth. This is what happens when you don’t shoot 40% and don’t get a shutout every 2nd game.

Lack of talent was very evident tonight.

To have success this team needs to outwork the opposition a good deal. When they come out below or equal to the opposition…well, this happens.

I’d hang tonight on the top players. Montreal’s produced, and ours couldn’t make a pass.

The one bright spot - the Mangiapane-Monahan-Coleman seems to work.

But is it at the expense of Dube, Backlund, Lucic?

Zadorov in: 2-6

Zadorov out: 5-0

Fix it

I wonder if Monahan continues to improve and Lindholm continues to stagnate, if Monahan gets another elevation.

Tkachuk is not a game breaker. He is good at times but far from elite. We definitely need to add a game breaker in addition to Gaudreau.

Back to earth. Mony Mangi and Coleman was a good line though. Gaudreau gets so scared to get hit it's actually pretty embarrassing. On to tomorrow.....

Glad I turned it off after the second. Two games in a row. Not the same team they were 10 days ago.

Just wait for the reaction if they lose tomorrow.

That bothered me less than the SJ game. Against SJ the flames were just bad in the 3rd. This game I thought more a case the Montreal was good, all game but esp in the 3rd.

Don’t take 5 penalties. Draw more than 1.

I thought 19 was bad. Blind passes everywhere. We need a nickname for his alter ego who thinks he’s playing shinny. Tough for his line mates to do much when they are doing the right thing (dump it in) and his retrievals were mostly back to the play no look pizzas.

Worst game I’ve seen the boys play this year. You just know Darryl is gonna give them a mouthful in the dressing room

Definitely haven't been great, but their 5v5 xGF% in those 5 games:

- 45.68% vs Montreal (L)
- 60.46% vs San Jose (L)
- 66.07% vs New York (W)
- 56.98% vs Dallas (OTL)
- 71.39% vs Nashville (OTL)

Hard to say they deserved 4 losses in their last 5.

Tonight was just a brutal effort.
