Default Where to buy furniture?

We're looking to furnish a new house and will be in need of couches and beds within the next 4 weeks. It seems that major furniture stores like The Brick or Leons are constantly out of stock and have delays until next year for many items. Are there any other stores in Calgary worth checking out that have inventory for higher end (not Ikea) furnishings?

Home Evolution and Bondars. But I have no idea how long you'll be waiting if you order something there... if it's not something you can get immediately it'll take a heck of a lot longer than 4 weeks.

Revolve has decent stuff sometimes.

Another option is the Consignment Gallery

Your schedule could be an issue. The supply chain is backed up and some things are taking months to arrive. Urban Barn also has some decent furniture.

Depending on your style I would recommend looking at some of the used/vintage stores in Calgary. There are some great ones:
Mr. Mansfield
Bex Vintage
Reclaim Vintage
Murphy’s
Those 4 deal in a lot of Mid century style stuff.

We’ve bought some really great pieces from some of them.
It’s always really well built stuff, and you get the advantage of reusing old stuff, so good for the environment too.

They aren’t cheap, but for the money I think you’re getting better quality than just about anything you’ll get at the big box stores.

There's four places. There's the Furniture Hut, that's on third. There's Furniture-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
That's on third. Sit Low, Sweet Furniture. Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the Furniture complex on third.

I’ve had good success with Wayfair online. Good prices, good furniture, and really good warranty programs.

I will always suggest F2 Furnishings at deer foot city. The owner is a friend of mine and they have quality goods.

We started furniture shopping for our new house about 7 months before the possession date. Almost any store where it's brand new stuff has lengthy wait times due to supply chain issues, usually 3-6 months is what we found. Even places that said it was "in stock" meant in stock somewhere in North America and would still be 4 weeks away.

I still haven't found a bookshelf I like for my office, so it looks like I'll be keeping at least one wall empty for a bit lol.

You are going to have troubles with furniture regardless where you go. There are a lot of material shortages in North America right now. Some because of covid. Some because of lingering effects of the weather had on some manufacturing last winter. This really had an impact on foam for seating. It is also harder for some of the home furnishing manufacturers because many of the larger commercial furniture manufacturers have been hoarding supplies.

A lot of home furnishings come out of North Carolina so they will all have the same issues.

Remember that most manufacturers don't carry much for stock so when they run into supply issues for materials, lead times get pushed out a lot. You might have some luck with Structube. They are based out of Quebec. Last winter they had long lead times (over 3 months) but that was because they were dealing with a strike. Their leads times have been much better lately. Their quality is middle of the pack. Better than the Brick and those places but not high end.

We had some good luck with XLNC furniture in the North East - a few years ago they delivered loaner couches till the actual ones showed up - time frame then was about 2-4 weeks then, not sure about now. Costco could be another option

If all that fails, just drive around with a truck in some of the new neighborhoods being built -you'll be amazed by the amount of furniture in the dumpsters

Ashley Furniture has a lot of stuff that is manufactured in the US, so the supply chain will be better.

IKEA is all coming from overseas, so the supply chain is terrible.

I bought a desk from Wayfair... found it cheaper on Amazon later. Won't buy anything else from them without running a Google Image search on it first.

There's a show home furniture warehouse in the old Sears at North Hill Mall that had surprisingly nice stuff. Lots of different styles.

More like your triple platinum. I want this until I saw the price. I still want it but the price.
