Depends what they gave up, but I dont think he can play because of his injuries

You can see he still has the mind for it, but his pivoting and any turns are not nhl level anymore, his knee just doesnt have it

Hope he can push through it, hes worked really hard

Somebody else brought him up... considering the draft position Bennett is a bust. He was ranked higher than Drai let's not forget. Decent NHLer still.

Anyway, thank you Benning

I doubt it would be much, since Juolevi would have to be put on waivers to go to the AHL

Olli could never get on track. Injury after injury, then in his first full NHL season avoided injury but by all accounts had the worst case of COVID on the team during the out break. Some of the really bad stuff being attributed to Hughes was actually Juolevi.

By the end of last season, Rathbone had passed him. Hunt has now come in and out played him (I guess. I disagree, but yeah). Between that and his cute roll around the ice after the bag skate, this was probably it for him. Team knows he probably doesn't clear waivers if he goes down, so see what's out there for him.

Can Juolevi get on track? I still legitimately believe so, but it wasn't happening in Vancouver. There was just no avenue that the Canucks kept him this season after he was on the outside looking in for the Canucks top 7. Whether it was by trade or waivers.

I hope he does well, he wasn’t a good pick at the time and I think most Canuck fans realized that due to the reaction in their own building. This is the risk when not picking the best available player but going for organizational needs.

I hope he plays well and is able to carve out a NHL career, but he is now looking more like a career AHL player if he is unable to crack the Canucks awful blue line.

Two thought

1 Benning isn’t nearly the draft genius that people make him out to be, half of his picks have turned out to be busts, which shouldn’t happen with top 5-10 picks.

2 Why do Florida and Vancouver trade with each other so often?

Canucks also waived Hamonic, so perhaps bringing in a more expensive defenceman since they're clearing that salary and the roster spot

Which defenceman is coming in from FLA?

As far as a top 5 pick goes, definitely a bust.

No one disagrees but why the hell would he sign a contract is he knew he wasn't going to get the vaccine. He put the Canucks in an awful spot, there has to be more to it.

Lammikko is a pretty good, 25 year old bottom six player. Looked like a swiss army knife type, if I remember him from the games that I saw. Plays all forward positions and put up good numbers in Lliga before coming over (just looked that up).

Juulson is a guy that never reached his potential, former first rounder. Juolevi Junior.
