Is Coleman hurt?
Also what’s the latest on Pitlick?

If we're being honest with ourselves, we should probably be cheering for this as it would be in the best long-term interests of the team.

EDIT: Although, pursuant to the CBA, I don't think Kylington can play tonight because he played the last three pre-season games, no? So I presume that the Kylington - Gudbranson pairing isn't playing tonight?

Hmm, a few questions...

Lewis a place holder for Coleman?
Ritchie a place holder for Pitlick?
Duehr a place holder for Lewis or Ritchie?
Valimaki possibly on the bubble with a strong camp from Kylington so far?
I guess Gudbranson's hand is fine?

Hopefully Coleman and Pitlick aren't injured to start.

Close to the opening night roster except for Coleman. I hope he's okay.

I hope they play him 27 minutes tonight to give him lots of chances against the Flames 3rd pairing.

Honestly with Coleman and Pitlick in the 2nd and 3rd line RW positions, that is a deep and balanced forward group. I really like it.

D are a mess.

FlamesPR doesn't have Coleman on their injured list they put out this morning.

Sutter said Coleman played a lot of playoff games and that was the excuse for pulling him in game #4 even though Coleman took the morning skate. Emilio Pettersen was told he would be playing about 2 hours before the game. Could be nursing a minor injury though.

I am sick of pre-season games. I wish that it was time to play real games already.

More the better for the Flames who never seem to get their legs under them until November.

Yeah the reason being he played a lot of playoff games sounded strange to me, but then again it really wasn't that long ago either, so maybe it's actually the reason.

If it were 4 games do or die for people trying to crack the roster then it would be much more intense. Which would spill over to the main roster.

It is not like these players are not scrimmaging all year round. This isn't 1980, players come into camp in shape and practiced.

I like that the top line is together.

I don’t like that it seems Gudbranson is gonna be 3rd pairing RD no matter what.

Coleman in for Lewis would improve things greatly but that 2nd line really hinges on Monahan being healthy and productive.

That 3rd and 4th lines won't be generating chances. This team could use an infusion of youth and energy up front IMO because Mangiapane seems about the only forward with upside, Dube too i guess.

I'm surprised there isn't more discussion about the Flames sticking with Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk. Sutter and Gaudreau both downplayed their success last season but the chemistry was undeniable and again we saw them look incredible against the Canucks on Friday.

As much as it is good having strength through the line up, Sutter said that they may have made the playoffs if he went to that line earlier on and having a consistently producing top line is such a key. Mangiapane-Monahan-Coleman has potential as a line too, lots of goal scoring, 2 excellent two-way wingers and a great garbageman.
