Anyone wondering, as I did before just now, Norm passed from acute leukemia. Evidently.

For those who either forgot or never knew, Norm was once on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Suffice to say, it's no joke one of the greatest Millionaire stints ever.

I hate this thread. Makes me miss Norm more now, than when the news first came out about his death.

easy to forget the talent this guy had and how likable he was, too.

I'm a bit out of touch. is there anyone now with this sort of low key, conversational humor?

Every Norm appearance on Letterman.

Just so much iconic stuff here. How animated Letterman gets when discussing Norm getting fired from SNL really stands out to me, and the amazing emotional bit on his last appearance

Spoiler!

I remember watching this live and being so pissed off that Regis talked him out of going for the million dollar question. So many great lines from him in that

"Well I'm not gay so I don't know much about broadway..."

"If you're wrong you lose $32,000"
"Well I don't lose it, the kids lose it"

His reaction to the 50/50 result is incredible.

A hybrid of Brad Pitt and Christian Slater.

The mere idea that no one else sees this collapses my brain.

Oh yeah, Dave was famously closed off from guests and didn't give it up for you just because you were on his show. The fact that he was even on the couch as the show ended, along with Dave reciting part of his act to make the crowd laugh was a true sign that Dave loved him.

I'd love to see a ship in the Orville named the MacDonald or even Norm. It would be a really nice touch.

I know this is depressing and bleak, but this segment of an interview he had with a radio station may most summarize not only Norm's view as a conflicted absurdist/Christian dying from a terminal disease, but also my general view of life.

Starts at 7:35.
