He’s a way better player then Brouwer. Much better skater. He’s a 6/7 forward. He can play on a second line. Good all over the ice.

Don't worry, he's not Brouwer... he's legitimately good. He was good even before he got to Tampa. It's the 6 years that are somewhat worrisome.
If he is a third liner he's among the best third liners in hockey, and even if he's slotted onto a checking line he's probably eating 2nd pairing minutes overall, especially once the PK time is factored in.

Coleman is 4 times the player Brouwer was at the time of signing the contract.
That doesn't mean this contract won't be a boat anchor in the last half of the deal.

The contract will look bad in 3 years though.

Not a fan of the player bases on the very limited viewing I have of him in the finals

How anyone can compare Coleman to Neal and/or Brouwer is beyond me. Coleman is a legitimately great player.

For as fantastic as he is offensively, he's even BETTER defensively. LEGIT two-way player who'll fit in perfectly in the top 6
Excellent addition.

Brouwer we got 1 year of good value. Neal we got 0 years. Hopefully if this rumour is true, Coleman bucks the trend, and we at least get more than 1 year of an effective player.

It was said about Frolik as well, which is more of a comparable to this player. And it came true.

We will see if this gets confirmed. Didn’t Jimmy say Gaudreau for Gostisbehere and Voracek was in the works?

I don't doubt Hayes, particularly not with a number that specific. Generally speaking — when I see numbers, it's time for a new thread.

I was afraid of Treliving chasing UFAs again. Good player, but not at that price unfortunately.

Blake Coleman is a better player than what he is getting credit for here. This is a fantastic addition and I am pleasantly surprised with the price. Far superior player to Goodrow. Flames fans are going to love this guy.

That's the need they need to address the most if they aren't planning on rebuilding. I haven't seen that yet.

Would be thrilled with this addition, and at a pretty good price sub-5M.

Won’t be as bad when the Brouwer buyout money is off the books. That’s how I’ll justify it.

Good news! The Brouwer money comes off the books in 13 minutes!
