It was funny because in his early days Superman was super overpowered and he was mostly dealing with like normal dudes as the villains, I'm amazed they didn't call him murderman, and have page after page of him bunching people through the chests or ripping out their spinal cords or throwing them into the sun while making humorous quips.
Actually I'd like to see that cartoon.
I was curious, the first Supervillain in the DC world was Ultra-Humanite who came around in 1939. He was a crippled man in a wheel chair with a superior intellect. So superior that the first time he fought superman he zapped him with enough electricity to knock him out then his plan fell apart as his henchmen attacked Superman with buzz saws which of course errr were useless.
After that they introduced Lex Luthor in 1940 who was um a ordinary guy with an enormous intellect, wait. They then killed off Ultra-Humanite because frankly this corral wasn't big enough for two ordinary dudes with large brains and hare brained schemes.
After that they rolled out Prankster who was a wait for it ordinary guy with a practical joke fetish, The Toyman, and Mister Mcyzpik who was an interdimensional version of inverse rumplestiltskin. I think the first real supervillain for DC was Brainiac in 1958. Marvel jumped on the superbeings first with Red Skull in 1940 I think it was, because Nazi's and Hitler.
