People forget the player has to want to sign a deal too.
Mangiapane is a guy that's always bet on himself, I highly doubt he was going to sign for 7 years and $3M or something at that time.

Anyways, I love Mangiapane but it's silly to suggest he will be making "Marner" tier money. That isn't happening.
I will be willing to bet any amount his contract on anything over 6 years will start with a 5.

Before the season I was saying no way mangiapane gets a cap hit that is over 6 per year. I do believe the start he’s had pushes him over 6 per on a 6 year deal or longer. You can’t completely ignore the increased opportunity in recent years and the pace he’s on. He’s tied with ovechkin in goals. He deserves a pretty significant bump on what his career averages suggest he gets

He’s young so 8 years at 5 Mil would be reasonable?

I can’t recall any 7-8 year deal that low for any player.

Didn't someone from Nashville sign a deal like that a few years back?

I just looked when I read your post and yes, Colton Scissons did. Mind you, he was 26 when he did, so he was a finished product (which his stats prove).

Who does Brad prioritize? MT, JG or Eats bread? I focus the latter two.
Can eats Brad keep eating bread at this pace?

Jarnkrok and Sissons are the only 2.
It just doesn’t happen.
Had they signed him to 7 x $4.5M coming out of his last deal most people would have complained it was way too much for an unproven player at the time, especially with the cap situation we were in.
Hell some people didn’t want to sign him for $5-5.5M this past offseason.

If he scores 40+ goals this year, it's gonna be hard to bring him back for less than 6M/year. He will likely command more than that.

Yes, if he scores 40, the number will be higher than $5 for sure

He took a 2 year deal at $4.4.....you really think he'd turn down $ 21 million guaranteed? I don't.

Yeah anyone with half a brain should hope that the w Karlsson situation is what mangi is hoping for. I don't see how we keep it under 6.5. Even then I think he maxes that out at 4 or 5 years.

Imagine posting more than 20 times in a day in one thread, saying nearly the exact same thing over and over and adamantly claiming to be right (even though you're almost always wrong), and nearly all those posts are you complaining about the teams highest goal scorer deserving more money?

Right, and that’s the age when both player and team have a good handle on who is is and can be. Not in his earlier contracts, especially for a guy who has had a relatively gradual emergence.
