I actually have no idea. Just went to the metacritic page and saw the user score was dramatically lower than the critics score, so I went and checked out the reviews and it was a bunch of nerds complaining about SJWs and their progressive agenda ruining the game. Maybe the boobs are no longer comically huge?

Actually now seeing people are also pissed off because it's an "always online" game, which is actually fair.
EDIT: And a big pay to win/grinding component, which WB has been thoroughly guilty of in numerous games now.

Seriously? That's so... tame. I was expecting the ending to be Jax reversing the slave trade or something, relegating white people to second class status. I could understand something like that being controversial, even though I'd be totally in favour of them doing #### like that because it's Mortal Kombat - it's supposed to be subversive and offensive and over the top for the sake of it.
But he just... ends slavery? And this is unacceptable? Christ, people are stupid.
Now, the microtx stuff, yes, that is cancer. I'm with them there.

People are more upset with the abusive microtransactions in the game and the games journalists that are defending it. There are some morons upset with Jax's ending, but that's not the primary concern.
But journalists are pushing a different narrative here, and by looking at this thread, it has convinced you otherwise.

I'm about to load up Resident Evil 2 remaster based on some of the reviews here. Looks like it should be good. What haven't you played that's come out recently?

Funny enough, Resident Evil is one of the only games I've played recently. I got through RE2 and Red Dead.

Spider-Man was just $30 last week too. It arrived yesterday but I've only played the opening level.
I'm trying to finish up AC: Odyssey before I invest more time into it but that might be a while since I'm trying to do everything. I just wasted about two hours last night trying to start a conquest battle on an island to reveal a cult member only to realize it was the wrong island.

What is a self-identified gamer? Somebody who openly acknowledges they play video games? Do you need to have "gamer" in your twitter bio?
A small minority of "gamers" (in this case, morons) were complaining about some frivolous crap in MK. 95% of the user reviews on metacritic are rightfully upset about the microtransactions. It's embarrassing when you twist what is actually happening to fit your narrative.
