Default Funny 1060AM Comedy Station

This is the reason I hate monster threads. Apparently this was brought up a month ago, burried in another general comedy thread. I think it deserves it's own thread. People- please do not be afraid to create a new thread.

http://www.funny1060.com/

Listened to it last night and part of today. As expected, no swearing. However unlike the Sirius/XM channel that doesn't have swearing, this actually has some good comedy on it.

Like I said in the other thread, I really enjoy the station. I like that they break up the sets so you don't have to catch up to the joke very often.

That said, it would be cool if they aired specials or full sets once and while.

The weekly comic showcase is great as well. Last week was Kumail Nanjiani. He's one of the funnier new comics performing right now. His Beta Male special was great. It's available on Rdio if you're a subscriber.

I listened to it today and I was pleasantly surprised. There's no swears, but there is adult humour. There was a Chris Rock joke about being offered a double blow-job.
Some of the comedians I heard were: Doug Stanhope, Louis CK, Aziz Ansari. A good George Carlin bit.
Unfortunately there was also Larry the Cable Guy and Steve Martin, neither of whom had any recognizable jokes.

The weirdest thing is hearing old Craig Ferguson clips, where his accent is still so thick. No wonder when he goes back home, everyone says he's become American

I love this station. Sometimes they play prank calls from the show Crank Yankers.
I am in my vehicle a lot every day and this station makes sitting in traffic a lot easier.
My favorite station now.

Heard a lot of Aziz Ansari. He is hilarious.
Even heard a lot of Bill Cosby clips.

They should be playing the more ribald comedians overnight.....nothing is funnier than a comedian on an f-bomb train.......

I have ben listening for about 2 weeks now, and like Ken said, it is actually better than sirius comedy. I really like how they announce the comedians name after the set, so you know who it is, if you want to look up more of their work.

That's the funny thing- I'm so used to listening to XM that I instinctively look to the radio to see the info bar that would be showing the comedian's name.

My radio has been set on 1060 for the last 3 weeks. As someone else mentioned it would be cool if they played an entire set/special once and a while, but I really dig the short snippets and the name soundbyte that caps each segment.

I kind of wish they would say the comedians name at the start so I can just enjoy the comedy without trying to figure out who they are.

I do the same thing. Since 1060 flipped I don't think I've even bothered turning my Sirius on, I hope they stick around.

That kind of bugs me too, but I can sometimes guess who's speaking.
One of my favourites so far is Bill Burr. Dude always gets me laughing out loud.

I like that they tell you the name of the comedian at the end of each skit. So far, this station is my favourite to listen to when Jim Rome is on the air, haha.

Funny 1060 is great. The stream is the same as most comedy stations accross the US except with diamond jay chiming in with traffic. The week they were at SXSW was great and I love how they have a guest comedian host each week.

best new thing to hit the radio since sports radio. i love this station and listen every day. not all mickey mouse comics either, on the contrary its usually the cream of the crop like seinfeld, rock, louis, rogan etc. oh and my favourite comic right now patton oswalt. good lord i love that man. hes funny still to this day, where as i find that the other guys ive really liked over the years like chris rock and louis ck dont have the same automatic laugh factor that patton has on me

Bill Burr is my favorite hands down, something about his inflection makes me laugh harder.

+1 for wanting the comic's name at the start of the bit.
