Only active roster player listed as waiver-exempt is Walker Duehr.
Not that you asked me, but you wanted an answer.
EDIT: Beaten by AC while typing.

Look for the symbol under the terms column, indicating which players are Waivers Exempt.
Duehr and Kinnvall on the NHL roster are, and 13 players in the AHL are.
Valimaki is not.

Thank you. Yet, I think his year on the IR still is a cause for confusion. I would like to get to the bottom of it. He’s played less than 80 games in the league and had one season where he was on the IR. From what I have been sourcing its not saying definitively. I will look into more waiver explanation.
Plus I was asking GIO for PM based on his pompous reply.
EDIT: he’s played 82 games so he’s apparently exhausted his exemption status by two games and his 2020/2021 season was prorated to 82 games to follow CBA guidelines.
Well I still think he should be playing more. Another young player not seeing time to Develop was my initial point. I was spitballing for solutions and AHL is out of the picture.

There were numerous ways you could have communicated your point. You chose that one. You could have just asked for my source to begin with. But whatever I don’t want to belabour it further.

I was using the waiver FAQ to determine his status. Not the team page AC and Jay Random shared.
It just didn’t paste correctly. It linked it to jussos individual page.
I also will look for that one sight that said he was waiver exempt.

His individual page says he has no waivers exemption. Because it doesn’t list any. That’s what it means.

I am aware now that he is not waiver exempt. Yet this pedantic tangent has taken too much from the original sentiment. If he couldn’t be assigned he should be playing. I don’t see the need for Zadorov at Valimakis expense.
Plus on the cap friendly site, I was parsing though the FAQ of waiver explanation. That doesn’t seem to link. It seems as if it’s a cba provision to prorate the amount of games played in 2020-2021. So he hasn’t played enough games without the proviso. So it’s not a situation based on how many physical games he’s played that should have precluded him from waiver exemption.
I think the source I saw waiver experience next to his name was a dynasty league online. So that’s my mistake but my initial point stands. That guy needs to play. How else is he going to get comfortable?

After Z’s performance tonight Valimaki may be waiting some more, especially combined with his public griping.

Getting comfortable is not the primary objective. It’s not even close.
Winning is the only objective.
At this point Zadorov helps the team win, according to Darryl.
Valimaki will need to earn his chance by his amelioration in compete, tactical / skill levels , in practice.

Winning is the objective I agree. However ameliorating value of assets is critical to winning. Beating Ottawa and lesser squads while losing to better groups isn’t the mark of justification for your viewpoint. We traded a fourth overall pick for two seconds, value wise, recently with this type of thinking. That type of asset management keeps this team and us the fans in perpetual mediocrity.
I really hope we keep up the work ethic and effort. Yet I want this team to develop our assets and contend for a championship. Zadorov hasn’t shown me he can, asidefrom a decent defensive game, be more than what he is. He doesn’t have the skating and vision to be a top four guy. Valimaki does have it. He just doesn’t have the quality Darryl values most and it’s grit. So what happens when valimaki is finally on waivers like kyllington? Does he sneak by enough to prove himself or is that more an aberrant situation? It looks as if it maybe headed towards valimaki developing a bad attitude and tanking his value further over Zadorovs place in the line up.
I don’t want to lose an asset that could have essentially landed us mark stone who I feel would have really helped this squad. He’s got grit in spades.

Is there a reason you are still posting in the 2-1 loss PGT after a Flames 4-0 win?
getting too close to 200 goals for your liking?
Oh and by your logic of trading a 4th overall for two 2nd rounders...we picked up a 3rd overall for nothing this summer. Asset values change
and for the 100000000 time Mark Stone was only coming to Calgary as a RENTAL

Weird this keeps getting bumped.
Also I think Valimaki is best off emulating his press box partner Michael Stone.
Stone has been just a consummate professional despite being used sparingly, and is always ready to go when called upon. Just take after him, and things will probably fall in your favour sooner than the current approach.
You simply CANNOT strong arm or passive-aggressive Sutter into anything. That's hopeless.
