If you haven't seen them on Blu-Ray, you are missing out big time.

Think of the cinematography level of the TNG movies, but each episode is of that calibre in the looks of it. They are amazing.

I rewatched the series a few years ago and one thing that struck me is that its an absolute miracle that show survived after season 2.

Seasons 1 and 2 sucked out loud.

I find it very difficult to judge the survivability or quality of a series made in 1987. I can't tell if it was "good" or not in the context of television in that season.

Remember that TNG was syndicated and not a network show. It isn't subject to the ratings game as Paramount made money on how many stations it could sell the show to and not how many advertisers paid to show commercials on it like how a network (NBC, CBS, ABC, etc.) worked.

I personally like season 1 the best out of all of them. The flavor of the show was much more unique. After that, the show changed in tone and became a lot more generic to me.

The highlight of the first two seasons is Denise Crosby leaving. I bet Michael Dorn still sends thank you cards

I wish it was Worf that had died in season 1 instead of being the actor in the most episodes of Star Trek ever.

Oh, I'm sure she is very high on his Christmas card list.

The extra-features on the DVDs was great. Things like Micheal Dorn was the butt of every practical joke on the set. No one said they didnt like him, but no one liked him.

Wouldn't that technically go to Majel Barrett?
