Johnny Markov I don't understand your disdain for Dave. Like did he shovel his snow onto your driveway?
You have yet to provide us someone who would be an upgrade on him? You keep blaming him for playing Jake, we had no better option. WE could have tried Stevens, but he would be no better. No other options were available, and when a significant upgrade was available, they got aggressive and made the move.
He has coached for 1 team, so I have no idea how he is a recycled coach. He still remains one of the best coaches in the CFL. You ever hear of FOFO? If we fire him we will be back to a Barker or Dunnigan type.

Yeah why NOT try Stevens? Cory Mace would have been a way better option than Oldboys club.
Also he cost us multiple cups with his kyit play calling.
Enjoy your D- Dickey! hahaha

No, I think he is referring to Fields intercepting a two point convert attempt and returning to the Eskimo end zone to win the Labor day rematch back in 2001.
13. EDM: Touchdown JACKSON (65 yard pass from MAAS) 14:15
CGY: 2-point convert interception return FIELDS (105 yards) 14:15
Yes. Suitor and John Wells jerking each other off when the Esks go ahead, and then Maas throws the INT on the 2 point and Stamps lead by 1 and win. Recall this was also their GC season with a terrible reg season record.
If this play doesn't happen, the Stamps don't even make the playoffs that year.

It seemed like a needless risk, I remember at the time. If they miss the two-point, then Calgary can tie the game with a missed FG or kick through the end zone if they don't get in FG range.

VA is in the city. Man his energy is contagious. So happy we got him. Seems like a great guy.
He’s already recruiting.
Yeah he sounds legitimately happy to be a Stampeder and sounds like a guy embracing his leadership role. I also liked how he admitted that he didn't work hard enough early in his career and now he's committed to being the first guy in the facilities every day. Most of all I'm excited about the return of the deep ball to the Stampeders as between Bo's shoulder issues at the end of his Stamps tenure and Maier's arm strength, it's something that this offense has been lacking for some time. I'm expecting a lot more big plays on offense this coming season and less of the horizontal passing game that has become prevalent over the past few seasons.

Just need a guy or two that can stretch the field who can stay healthy.
I imagine Malik Heath gets one more shot but he is a health worry, and Echols looks to have some wheels.
Past that though DD needs to find someone who can take the roof off on deep balls. Draft or UFA doesn't matter.

Yeah, it was great to hear about him putting in the work. Also said he was close to coming here because he wanted to work with Dave and learn from Bo.
Also, I hope Johnny Markov watches it. Listen to him carefully. He talks in depth about the Stamps coaches being raided, and the league basically running the Stampeder systems. He said the offence has no problems, we literally had no one to make big plays. Obviously, they will add things to the offence now we have a QB who can throw deep and run.
Maier had no zip on the ball. We had deep routes he couldn't connect.
Also seeing Philpot at the game last night gives me hope he will be back. Think he has a lot of potential.
The Edmonton Elks gave Canadian quarterback Tre Ford a raise commensurate with being a starting quarterback in the Canadian Football League.
After playing out his three-year rookie deal, the Elks signed the ultra-athletic QB to a three-year contract extension through the 2027 season. The 26-year-old receives a $100,000 signing bonus as part of his 2025 compensation, which can max out at $367,000 if all bonuses and incentives are hit.
In 2026, Ford can earn $400,000 in playtime and hard money combined with $425,500 maximum. In 2027, the University of Waterloo graduate is scheduled to make $440,000 in hard money with $446,000 maximum. Through three years, Ford has a shot to earn $1,238,500 total.
