Default Post your favorite movie tv monologue

I thought it would be cool to try this. There are movies or TV shows that have these moments when an character provides a monologue, it might give you chills or make you laugh or whatever. But I wanted to post them here just for fun

Field of Dreams, "They will come Ray" Loved this speech and it didn't hurt that it was James Earl Jones making the speech

Greed is good - Brilliant speech and showed the hypocrisy of the whole 80's consumption culture

Amen - Other people's money. I always thought this movie was savagely under rated, but Danny Devito's speech to the shareholders was brilliant

TV

The ending of the Wonder Years. I have to admit that I sniffled when I found out that Jack Arnold died a couple of years later

But Daniel Stern was brilliant as the Narrator of the whole series

Opening narration of BattleStar Galactica in 1978. Yeah it was cheesy, but man that opening Narration "There are those who believe that life began out there" It even made its way into the reboot. (I loved the theme as well)

I've been doing a rerun of the first 4 Better Call Saul seasons during this time of self-isolation and both Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean killed these ones.

Robin Williams as Valdimir Ivanov (defected musician from the Russian Circus) in Moscow on the Hudson. He's in a coffee shop with his imigration lawyer, Orlando Ramieriz and ends up having a heated discussion about freedom in the USA where he comes to realise what life, liberty and happiness is all about.

Vladimir Ivanoff (Robin Williams):
In Moscow we fought for an inch of freedom! Here you take it and pour #### all over it.

RIP Robin

And this one could actually be considered three small speeches, but all in one scene. I couldn't put it in the same post as the Great Dictator, because I would feel dirty.

I think that David Mamet is a bit of a blowhard, but the writing here is the best he's ever done, and Baldwin knocks it out of the park.

I can't find a decent version of it online, but I love Brian Cox's monologue at the end of 25th hour

Can't believe this one hasn't been posted yet. Still riveting no matter how many times I've seen it.

When he hears that Rudy (Sean Astin) has quit, Fortune (Charles S. Dutton) reveals that years back, he also quit the team and has regretted it ever since.
