Though not worth his salary he works hard, makes hits and is a presence. He was the best Flame last night. He will be invaluable in playoffs as we need the nuclear deterrent, though if we meet the Oilers he is going to have to get over not hitting his buddies. Worth 10X that piece of -23 garbage Neal.

I bought his jersey the first pre-season rookie game of the year at the Dome. Also own a Lucic Bruins jersey. It has been infinitely less embarrassing to wear than the Neal jersey I unfortunately bought last year. I’ve defended him all season, even when he went 20-something games without scoring a goal to start the season. He also scored a goal on my birthday this year.
Milan Lucic officially has more goals and points as a Calgary Flame than James Neal.
I feel it is my duty and an honour to join this secret society.
Lucic does everything fairly well except skate fast and finish scoring chances. He’s a good passer, works Howard, forechecks, defends better than most, and doesn’t make dumb decisions with the puck. Simply put, he’s not a liability on the ice like Neal.
If his scoring touch hadn’t disappeared, he’d be worth his pay check. As it is, he’s better than Neal.

He may not skate above average but to me he definitely isn’t below average. He has caught me by surprise on a few plays.

While I am not ready to join the fan club, he is a big improvement over the offensive Black Hole that is James Neal. Lucic - Ryan- Dube have been an effective line most nights.
I liked Lucic since his days as a Bruin and wished that the Flames could get him. The wish did come true however late it is. People say he's slow (as an excuse to say he's no good), but he's pretty fast on the ice. When he checks, it's frickin awesome - like a speeding freight train crushing a car! I'm just glad he didn't call it quits back in November. He is what the Flames needed since the rebuild started back in 2012! Big guys with heart - that's what the Flames need more of.
I need to see Lucic beat up an Oiler before I can join his fan club.
I joined. And then EV comes up with this salient point. I will attend club meetings, but i'm using negative body language like folded arms until he bashes an oiler.
It's a shame he's not better at deflections considering his net front presence. He's quite frankly quite poor at it. If he had a drop of Holmström blood in him he could be scoring >20 goals per year until he's forty based on size alone.

Once he gets going straight ahead he’s OK. He just doesn't have acceleration or lateral movement, which can be a big deal. It’s not bad for catching up to the play or for throwing a forecheck.

Fact: Even the Coronavirus is afraid to engage in a fight with Milan.
