Boris going from hospitalized to ICU so quickly is incredibly scary. Just yesterday they were downplaying the move saying it was for more testing. This could be the first head of state taken by Covid19. Mid50s, not exactly the healthiest looking bloke.

Apparently first sign of symptoms to death is less than 14 days, so quickly is how this thing operates.

So if reports are true and Boris Johnson is in ICU on a respirator, he's probably has ARDs. At best he has 50/50 chances without any other health complications. Johnson isn't in the best health either.

Last I read he wasn't on a respirator and was taken to ICU as a precautionary measure in case he needs it.

I'm sure as PM the guy is getting the best care possible. Agree with policies or not, heads of state are always given the best possible care.

He certainly is, but it's not like they're saving some new treatment method in case a VIP gets ill. It's more than 50% death rate when they go on ventilator, assuming he gets to that point.

You mean he's not going to get double the dosage of Hydroxychloroquine, triple the zinc and quadruple the vitamins ?

More than 50%, based upon? His age?

Is there a date link?

No one gets taken to ICU as a 'protective measure' I mean what is it supposed to protect him from, the 40 second journey from the regular bed to the one in ICU? if he, or anyone else is in an ICU due to covid its because they are very, very sick which is what the rumour has been for several days now, and frankly if he wasn't we would have had him releasing a cheerful but calming message.

Johnson is apparently on a respirator despite the official line, my only question really is whether he is already in a coma.

Just listened to Dr. Bogoch, an infectious disease specialist who has been doing regular really good pieces for CTV News, and his take was totally different.

EDIT: And the prime minister did release a cheerful but calming message.

I meant one where he was filmed giving a typical Churchilian thumbs up from his bed, not the kind any aide would belt out for him
