Canada Place is to Edmonton what Harry Hays is to Calgary.

The reason it is done at harry Hays is that they created the passport on site. This is the same for ones you pick up instead of ones you have mailed to you. they are done on site.

I'm a Canadian living in the US. I'll be flying to Calgary in November, but my passport expires about 6 weeks after my trip. Will this be a problem?

I know some countries require a passport to be valid for 6 months after the scheduled departure date. This shouldn't be an issue for a Canadian flying to and from Canada, should it?

Nope. You could show up without it, and after 5 minutes in CIC with an Immigration Officer and you'll be on your way.
