Default Cirque du Soleil - Amaluna

The Cirque tent is coming back to Calgary in April 2013. They just opened up ticket sales today (free signup needed though.)

The VIP experience they have is pretty sweet but pricey.

As a big advocate of the aesthetically pleasing nature of a circumcised penis, naturally I love Cirque du Soleil and I'll be going.

Going to Vegas in January and will be checking out the newest addition, Zarkana which is playing at Aria. I believe it just opened up this month.

Anyone have any feedback on the seating charts for this?
Are the cheapest seats still pretty good?

Oh yeah seating for this is two tiers and even the back of the second tier is really good. The only thing that may be a problem in the second tier is some support pillars. Try to sit in the middle of the row and you should be ok.
Also try not to get on the very far end, not horrible but not ideal as well.

Planning on going tonight, how is long is entrance time? Is there a backlog at the entrance? What would be a good time to arrive? Thanks.

I was there on the Saturday show, entrance time was easy but parking was a mess. Parking may not be too bad during the week though. If you plan on getting a snack or drink give yourself a little extra time, but if you are there 30 mins before show time I think you will have plenty of time.

Also when we went the lady who does the stick balancing act messed up 3 times, and left the stage without completing her act so I would be interested to know if she bounced back and completes it now.

I'm going tonight as well (8:00). Is it right on Stampede grounds? Would taking the train be a better idea?

Went on the weekend and really enjoyed the show. Stick balancing lady finished her act without problems, was actually a surprising highlight.

Tent is really close to the train stop, would be a good idea with the flames game on to train down.

I went last Thursday. This was my 3rd Cirque event at the Stampede grounds. I saw Kooza and Ovo previously. Even though this one had the worse comedic skits, this one was my favourite. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

The lady balancing the stick performed it flawlessly for us.

In past years, if you go the VIP route you get free parking that is reserved right by the tent. It's a breeze to get out after the show. This is on top of the all you can eat food and open bar, separate entrance, tent, store, bathroom, etc.

Nice, enjoy the show!

It looks like it is the finale/last day - I wonder if they do anything different/special for it. Let us know?

Went on the weekend, show was alright, bu dragged in a few parts. I thought the stick lady was hot.......that guy that climbs up the pole with his elbows at a 45 degree angle is some kind of strong

Ahh my bad, looks like they extended it at some point. And I didn't click the "next month" button.

She nailed the balancing act last night too. I think I was proabaly more nervous than she was, absolutely amazing. The comedic skits were almost awkward to watch. I didn't enjoy them at all. There has always been really flamboyant characters at all the shows I've seen, but this one was particularly painful. Great show overall though - I'm still amazed at the athleticism of these performers. Unreal!
