I wonder if the Flames will show any interest in Patrick Maroon.

Pat might look ok on a 2nd line. But that contract is likely going to be scary.

I am not a fan, but he addresses a need and his contract would be more palatable than other higher profile UFA options.

Yeah he's got oiler stink on him but I think we could do a lot worse than Maroon. He won't help team speed, but he's huge and has back to back 40+ point seasons. One thing for me is that after he was traded to Jersey he put up 13 points in 17 games. Doesn anyone know who he was playing with there?

Maroon is my number 1 target, unfortunately I think he signs with St Louis

Any rumblings out there? Or you just think that because he was born in STL?

Oiler and Duck stink. That's a lot of stink to wash off. We're talking industrial-strength decontamination.

I hope Lindholm gets a chance to prove he can be a second scoring center for this team.
A second line of Tkachuk - Lindholm - Maroon might be able to put up some points.

It was posted somewhere that St Louis was interested, can’t remember who said it. If so, I think it’s a no brainer he goes there

His son lives there and Maroon has been quite open about the struggles he has being away from him during the season.

Maroon's numbers have been inflated the last 2 years, he's a 10 goal 30 point guy this year IMO.

Was this already in here? (I'd heard rumors of the Ward move by Chicago, but the other two were new to me, at least the details)
Apologies on the formatting, tweeted by Will Nault from Fan960...
Some news from our pal @reporterchris today on @Sportsnet960.
Cam Ward to CHI on 1-year deal, ~$2.5M. Carter Hutton to BUF, details unknown. Jonathan Bernier to DET on a 3-year deal.
Sounds like Paul Statsny is going to remain in WPG but they do need to move a bit of money out.

I would be leery that his numbers are inflated from playing on McWhiners wing for most of the past 2 seasons. That being said he kept up the pace in a small sample size in Jersey

I don’t think he is an option based on reports of his connections to StL, but even if Maroon doesn’t produce at the same pace he would still provide a huge boost to the Flames’s middle six, and would instantly make the team more physically intimidating.
