The risk we are taking is that he is signed through 2025 in the K.

But we are hoping for a Kaprizov long-term return here.

Geez by the time the dude comes over I'll be 50.
Russians play defense??

I've been after Doan for quite a while. Talked with Grant about him quite a bit in the summer as part of a larger deal that didn't materialize. Very happy to get him here — think he'll be an NHL player for a long time.

To CMB : Joel Eriksson-EK + 3.75 M Cheese

To ANA : Carson Lambos, William Wallinder, CMB 3rd 2024 + 1 M Cheese 23/24

---> The Inevitable "My team is doing good lets shore up the depth now... ooops accidently destroyed chemistry" deal.

Wanted to Bring in a top end #2 C with DF skills to slot everyone better up front. Kevin Hayes as 3C or 2LW is much better.

Sucks losing good prospects but Eriksson-Ek is only 25 and has high RFA value. Stupid Simmer wouldn't budge on 1 M for next year but I made the move anyways to take a run at it all this year.

Thanks to Simmer for the deal.

Lambos has been on a solid trajectory since his draft year, Wallinder won J20 player of the yr last year, and this yr in the SHL he is lighting it up.

I think Knut wins this deal, but I needed to make a change and this is the best deal I could get for Ek. It gives me some more pieces to play with and hopefully helps with SIM chemistry.

Thanks for your patience Knut.

Went back and forth for a few weeks with the Avs GM.

Again, I think like the Blue Jackets, Avs are getting a good deal here. Fiala is popular and I may have been able to get more, but I really wanted to get into the 1st round this year.

Hoping this shakeup helps the squad and I add to my prospect/long term prospects.

Thanks Macho

It might be that I had the day off, and for the first time in weeks had the chance to down a few wobbly-pops. That said, I had some talks in the last little while surrounding Krebs, and that effectively put it in my mind what the future would look like without him. Edmonton came in with the win-now trade, and away we go.

The Kings centre depth is now Crosby-Kuznetsov-Karlsson-Jenner-Bonino. The SIM will either reward or punish.

On the heels of our discussions in the league changes thread, here's an example of the two ends of the spectrum. Short term gain for long term pain!

That said, I'm a big Ian Mitchell fan.

I think that's a pretty even swap both ways. Kings, you still get a good long term player, it's not just short term

Oilers get a good vet and a prospect in Krebs who has underperformed a bit...maybe a buy low scenario?

Good deal guys. Great to see teams struggling making moves.

I'll let the dust settle and give this new look Ducks a chance to see whether they can get a win or two.

If not, I'll likely continue the revolving door. Because trading is fun.

Hated giving up Pickering, he could be a star. Brink certainly has upside but is lost for the year to hip surgery, so we will have to wait and see how that affects him. Pelech just adds that extra Df element I need both on reg lines and PK. A good plus playing Df.

Pens have traded Mason Marchment and Elias Salomonsson to LA for Blake Wheeler and cap.
I like Marchment, he just wasn't fitting in on the team and Wheels has always performed well for me.
