@Ken_Rosenthal:
Not close to final, but postseason plan at “controlled sites” being discussed, per sources: AL in southern California, NL in Texas. World Series possibly at Rangers’ new ballpark. League talking with union about possibilities. Final plan would be subject to ownership approval.
The Mets and Marlins took the field, had a 42-second moment of silence, and then walked off. The only thing left on the field: a Black Lives Matter shirt.
I found the apology issued by the GM corporate drivel. He had to go back on his words as he'd probably lose his job, so they come up with a not so elaborate way of explaining away the whole situation. I don't blame him, but I found it somewhat humorous that he had to backtrack against the man.
I want to feel for Trout, but the Angels have been Oiler level bad for years before he signed that 12 year deal. He would have gotten at least as much as he did on the open market if he waited to become a free agent after this year. Maybe he's just comfortable playing for an irrelevant team with great weather, keeps things more low key.

Drafting is hard. Mike Trout was taken in the first round, 25th overall in 2009. Right before the Angels took Trout they drafted Grichuk 24th.
Jays took Chad Jenkins at 20th.
I like that nobody took exception to Trout swinging for the fences at 11-1 to score a 3 run homer, and he almost got another HR at the end of the game /laff

There must be some unwritten fine print on that unwritten rule.
7 player swap with the Mariners and Padres. Mariners are loading up on prospects and the big name going to them is Taylor Trammell as their starting catcher Austin Nola goes to the Padres.
Quote:
PADRES-MARINERS TRADE
Padres get: C Austin Nola, RHP Dan Altavilla, RHP Austin Adams
Mariners get: INF Ty France, OF Taylor Trammell, RHP Andres Muņoz, C Luis Torrens
The Padres are seriously going all in. They've added what, Nola (C), Adams (RP), Altavilla (RP), Castro (C), Moreland (1B/DH), Rosenthal (CP) and Alonso (1B) this month
