All the pressure is on the Warriors to NOT lose game 7 Tuesday after losing Game 6 tonight. PA really has nothing to lose they’re not even suppose to be in this position. Nothing is worse then a top team playing not to lose.

Broncos edge the pats 3-2 in game 7.

Tough luck for Regina getting a draw like that on round 1 but they put up a solid fight.

Now they sit for over a month until they host the Memorial Cup.

Looks like Spokane is going to force a 7th game with Portland as well. A lot of great matchups in round one this year.

Big win for the Chiefs! The game got quite physical in the late 3rd. Can't wait for game 7 tomorrow, going to be feisty.

Game 7 going tonight here in Victoria. Victoria is without probably 2 of their top 3 forwards but Hanoun and Phillips have put Victoria on their back this series. I believe the winner of this series plays Tri-City (I could be wrong here) and I would love to see Valimaki and Phillips go head to head! Hopefully the Royals can take care of buisness. Was able to snag a couple free tickets from a buddy so I’ll be there!

Moose Jaw squeaks by the Raiders 5-4 in game 7.

Id say a Moose Jaw vs Swift Current is the proper match up. Two best teams in the WHL all season long going head to head in a best of 7. Should be a beauty.

Portland finishes off the Chiefs as well and Victoria just knocked the Giants out.

Chiefs played pretty poorly for most of the game, looked tired. Weatherill was outstanding in net however. Fischer with a very untimely penalty with under 3 minutes left in the 3rd and Portland capitalized.

Everett/Portland will be a good series.

Phillips with another first-star performance as the Royals hold on to beat the Giants. Victoria almost blew two 3 goal leads and survived a late flurry at the end of the game.

Victoria will be in tough if they don't get one of Tyler Soy or Kaspick back vs the Americans.

The WHL playoff format is well dumb. The top 2 teams in each conference get to play each other now ... in the 2nd round.

If nothing else, Brandon and Tri-City should have home-ice advantage over Victoria and Lethbridge for posting better regular-season records/higher point totals.

Second round predictions:
Swift Current in 5
Brandon in 7
Everett in 6
Tri-City in 5

Lethbridge vs Red Deer - 7 games - Homer pick, head says Red Deer, heart says Canes

Kelowna vs Tri City - 5 games - TC a pretender, shouldn't have bought at deadline
Victoria vs Vancouver - 6 games - This one has upset written all over it IMO
Everett vs Seattle - 5 games - Everett and Hart too much for defending champs
Portland vs Spokane - 5 games - Portland steam rolls the Chiefs

My picks in bold.
Got 5 out of 8 in round 1, although Regina and Vancouver came close to making it 7 out of 8. Only series I really messed up badly was the Kelowna/Tr-City one. Yikes.

2nd round!

Swift Current @ Moose Jaw - 6 games
Brandon @ Lethbridge - 7 games <- Go Canes!

Portland @ Everett - 6 games
Tri-City @ Victoria - 6 games

Haha. They had a chance to! Were up 3 to 1, just couldn't close. Still got the winner right.

It's the same format as the NHL.

A lot of people are complaining about this this year but the format has been in place since 2014 iirc and this situation hasn't really happened before. from a busines point of view it is excellent, we sold out our first round games and will sell out all our second round games, if we were playing med hat or lethbridge that might not be the case. The whole point was to highlight the division rivalries.

And you have to play everyone eventually so does it really matter?

And reduce travel costs as much as possible.
Agreed, there is nothing wrong with the format but periodically you get situations such as this season where one division is loaded. Things balance out in the long term.

Brandon blows a 4-0 lead in game two. Lethbridge wins 5-4 in OT and lead the series 2-0.

Wheat Kings take game 3 with a 5-4 win.

Man I hope the Canes can take game 4 there. Don't want the Wheaties to get rolling like they did with the Tigers.

Tri-City is just destroying the BC teams. Up 4-0 in the 2nd against Vic and likely to take a 3-0 series lead which would also stretch them to 7-0 so far in the playoffs.

They will be a handful for Everett or Portland.

Swift and Moose Jaw going to OT.

Almost a reverse of Game One of the series in Brandon tonight. Lethbridge took a 4-0 lead into the first intermission. Brandon scored 3 in the second, before Lethbridge finally got a late one in the second to go into the second intermission with a two goal lead.

In the end, the Canes held on to win it 7-4 to take a 3-1 series lead. They can wrap it up at home on Friday.

I just tried to buy tickets to game 5 in Lethbridge.

Sold out dammit. That place is going to be rocking. Way to go Canes!
