Just to post a few, you can see the rest here: http://www.calgarysun.com/2014/05/01...lgary-stampede

Deep Fried Donut Bacon Cheeseburgers "The name says it all. Two melt-in-your-mouth donuts stacked together with a burger, cheese and bacon served in-between!" Photo from Calgary Stampede

Deep Fried Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups "A deep friend snack made of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, dipped in batter and deep fried!" Photo from Calgary Stampede

Poutine Burger "Why order a side dish when you can have it all in one? It’s a juicy burger stacked with fries, drenched in gravy and cheese curds, and topped with a Kaiser bun." Photo from Calgary Stampede

Scorpion Pizza "This pizza is for the most daring of foodies. Add a little crunch to your pizza topping with a few seasoned scorpions – if you dare!" Photo from Calgary Stampede

Crocodile Sliders "Looking for adventure? This exotic crocodile patty is served on a bite sized bun with lettuce and tomatoes. Crikey!" Photo from Calgary Stampede

Deep Fried Cheezies "Take the classic crunch of aged cheddar cheezies and coat it in a light doughy batter and deep fry it." Photo from Calgary Stampede

Donut burger I would try. Poutine burger sounds great but would probably be too messy and would fall apart due to the gravy.

Holy smokes, that burger looks so bad and so good.

Actually, both of them do.

Not just the usual 'let's try putting batter and bacon on this' options this year, though there still is a lot of that. Some real interesting things in there. Truffles? Balsamic?

Creole Cajon Chicken Po Boy should be fantastic. Can't go wrong with Polish Poutine either.

Waiting for TTC to reveals his new username

I don't think he'll be able to hide his hatred for the Stampede

"Canada’s monopoly on poutine will also be challenged with the serving of its Polish version, complete with perogies, bacon and caramelized onions."

Oh dear God, thank you!

Was it really necessary to deep fry the bacon-cheddar doughnut burger?

I am not anti-deep fry, but when it's hot, like it is during Stampede, hot stuff is so.. unfulfilling. They need more cold stuff.. like put those deep fried peanut butter cups in some ice cream. Or serve some cold pizza - instant gratification of having left-over pizza, but without having to leave it overnight in the fridge. I'd go for that.

Eating hot greasy stuff on a hot day makes me feel like crap.

I wonder why you don't see variations of prairie oysters. You'd think that would be a very Stampede type thing.

I'm assuming only the donuts are deep fried and not the final burger as a whole. If the whole thing is deep fried I won't be interested.

I wanna try that pizza. Although the rest of it doesn't look like it'd go well with scorpion, looks like a regular pizza with scorpion's thrown on it for the sake of it. I'd do something with roma tomatoes, parmesan and basil. Or maybe even a basil pesto base instead of tomato sauce. If I get bored later this week maybe I'll try that.

Anyway.... deep fried Reese's?

Out of all of those the Scorpion Pizza is the one I'd want to try the most.

Maybe in China. I've heard you can get all sort of bodily fluid concoctions for their various healing properties.
